Can you rebuild a steering shaft joint like this?

Late 80s Toyota, it’s still pretty smooth but I’m stripping and powder/cerakoting all of the rest of the rack so thought I might rebuild this as well. I don’t see any c clips or similar that might allow disassembly.

Just replace with a quality Borgenson or Pete & Jake's.

Bearings are held in by deformations in the sides of the pockets, you I can see them from here.
You MIGHT be able to get the bearings out, sandblast, and put new bearings in... IF you can find the right bearings, and IF you don't destroy it too much and IF you can deform it again to hold the new bearings in.
Either a quick wash and paint; or find a replacement.

I would assume so, but getting the correct bearing caps and a new spider is gonna be hell. Far easier to get a replacement joint than try to rebuild one of these, considering these aren’t really meant to be serviceable

Usually not. That’s a replacement part. If it still works fine then just give it a good cleaning and paint it by hand.
