Believe it or not but, husqvarna made firearms. This is the model 1907 in .380

Husqvarna model 1907
Mauser1838@reddit
Well now I want one
s_m_c_@reddit
Husqvarna started out making firearms, everything else came later.
Lots of people mistake their logo for a crown, it's rifle irons viewed from the shooter's POV.
Thekinzlerbros@reddit (OP)
Right I know but most people think they make lawn equipment
Large-Welder304@reddit
When I was a kid, Husky was known for chain saws and dirt bikes. IIRC, Roger Decoster once rode for Husqvarna.
Dear_Mention_3305@reddit
It is an FN M1903. The Swedes called it M/07.
Mauser1838@reddit
Best side arm in bf1
Large-Welder304@reddit
Interesting. OP calls a .380, which would make it a 9x17.
s_m_c_@reddit
Most of them were converted upon arrival in the states, due to 9x20 being non-existent here
burntblacktoast@reddit
Or dirt bikes

"Husqvarna is one of the oldest companies in the world, founded in Sweden in 1689. At that time, the company has been producing some of the best muskets, and today it is the world’s largest manufacturer of all kinds of garden tools, lawnmowers, cultivators, and small tractors...The shape of the original company logo was taken from the sights of the first muskets produced by Husqvarna. Over time, the shape of the emblem has been slightly transformed, but the essence remains the same."
Husqvarna Logo and symbol, meaning, history, PNG, brand

Today I learned.
BadgerBadgerCat@reddit
Everyone in the milsurp community knows Husqvarna made guns... besides the M1907 here, they also made the Swedish Mauser rifles too.
Dear_Mention_3305@reddit
They also made the Finnish Lahti pistol under license as the Husqvarna M40. Soldiered on until they adopted NATO standard 9mm ammo in the late 80s, which the M40 couldn't handle, so it got replaced with the Glock 17
Nesayas1234@reddit
They actually temporarily brought back the M07s until the Glock took over lol
JimmyFuttbucker@reddit
My dad still hunts with one that got rechambered in 30-06 and has Sears and Roebuck markings
SolidPrysm@reddit
Yeah, I didn't know they made anything but firearms. I figured OP was being sarcastic.
MercilessParadox@reddit
Ive got one as well as a husq SxS shotgun. Both are cool and were cheap
Dear_Mention_3305@reddit
They started out making Muskets in the late 17th century, AFAIK
762x38mmR@reddit
ain't it 9x20mmSR instead ?
Oelund@reddit
How many times has that grip safety taken a bite out of the web of your thumb so far?
Thekinzlerbros@reddit (OP)
Have not shoot yet. I just got it.
Oelund@reddit
Good luck, have fun.
I used to have one, and the one thing Swedish servicemen who had used it kept saying about it, was that the grip safety would bite you.
I never really had too much of a problem with it, but it certainly did pinch every now and then.
Mine had been rechambered for 9x19mm, which made the recoil pretty darn snappy. It also limited it to using 95gr bullets since regular 9x19mm were too long.
I made a review album about it back in the day with stuff like disassembly instructions. You can check it out here, in case there is information you can use in there.
DeadHeadLibertarian@reddit
Shame they still don’t. What a pretty firearm.
MonsieurCatsby@reddit
If you've ever used one of their sewing machines I can imagine their firearms had actions crisp as cut glass
DeadHeadLibertarian@reddit
I had one of their lawn mowers in middle school and I cut lawns for extra spending money. Loved that thing.
SaltyCanuck76@reddit
I have one of their .410 shotguns. They make a lot of things, sewing machines, bicycles, motorcycles, etc. They made shotguns up until 1989.
bmbreath@reddit
Believe it or not?
Why is that hard to believe? They made many firearms for a long time...
I also believe husqvarna did not make them in .380 ever.
Thekinzlerbros@reddit (OP)
I understand that most of you knew that husqvarna made firearms. But people not on this sub or most gun subs would have no idea they made firearms. What are the odds if you asked people on the street. If they knew they made firearms? That was my angle it wasn’t really asking this sub. It’s a forgotten firearm to the regular person. Most people i tell had no idea and some are in the milsurp community. They just know the big ones like Colt, or walther
Unicorn187@reddit
They make everything. Military firearms going back to muskets. I sold ir transferred a few a gun shop I used to work for.
Chainsaws and other lawn/gardening/landscaping items (I love weed trimmer, that thing is a beat).
Pretty nice sewing machines.
Dirt bikes.
mratlas666@reddit
I’m more a model 450xp kinda guy myself. Got me a 20 inch bar on that bad boy.
mratlas666@reddit
Does it come with a chainsaw?
MunkSWE94@reddit
Believe it or not, Sweden issued this until the Glock 17 came on the market.
84Windsor351@reddit
husqvarna m38 is a neat rifle that i wish i bought when i had a chance
theotherforcemajeure@reddit
Collectors tip: If Swedish gear has the "closed" crown stamp as seen on the holster, it is from before 1942. If it has the current three "open" crowns it is 1942 and later. [The closed crown can still be found on some items later, but not after 1945)
Man_Cheetah67@reddit
There was a Husqvarna Nagant revolver at my local gun store the other day
Lazy-Day@reddit
And you didn’t buy it?
_Zoring_@reddit
One of my first two rifles was a Husqvarna Mauser, I found out after from my mum they make sewing machines
Horilka@reddit
Firearm maker made firearms. Who would think so.
P.S. Too secret, don't tell anyone - they weren't made in .380
UnstableHerb@reddit
I believe I’ve read that many brought to the states were rechambered to .380.
hybrid_donuts138@reddit
I have an old Husqvarna motocross jersey from the 70s from when my dad used to ride one, and I remember when I wore it once in high school and an old woman came up to me utterly baffled why a teenage punk was repping what she only knew of as a sewing machine manufacturer.
