Also some free advice: if you’re riding primarily on asphalt, make sure you’re using city bike tires. No reason whatsoever to use MTB tires, which have their treads ground off insanely fast on hot asphalt. If you’re riding a lot on asphalt with MTB tires expect to replace them every 6-12 months

No there's a reason to use knobby tries on pavement and its rrrrrrrrRRRRRRRR!
kurisu7885@reddit
Then get knobby road tires, if those exist.
OddAstronaut2305@reddit
For sure. I finally picked up a set of non mtb tires for my 26x4 and I am looking forward to getting them swapped.

Doing maintenance for one thing, just for another 2 things to break on removal💀
blueskyredmesas@reddit
When that happened with a machine I was working with or my own bike I took that as a sign I was slacking on those things too. If something is just waiting for a normal interaction to break on you, then it was probably broken just running on universal entropic energy mumbo jumbo.
ItzJustAhhPotato@reddit
I hate mumbo jumbos 😟

I had the rear end of mine slide out from under me at 25MPH. I saved it from going down, but barely. My tires were worn, but nothing showing through the surface. I replaced them with Schwalbe Marathon GT365. The ride isn't as soft as it had been on the OWM Schwalbe Big Bens, but the tread is more aggressive. Tires are the things that separate you from the pavement. Not a good place to try and skimp.

I have a co worker like this with his hey bike . It's rusted, the front light is facing down ( or even unplugged, the throttle switch is missing a cap

Lack of basic maintenance is astounding on this sub. I'll always see people go "Buy this Ebike, it'll last" rather than saying "Maintain your Ebike, it'll last longer."

Anyone know a good windscreen? My chest hurts
Lopsided-Buffalo-190@reddit
No need to oil the sprocket. It’s good just oiling the chain.
blueskyredmesas@reddit
"Yeah I ride in the winter, why?"
ornithobiography@reddit
"Don't try to upsell me, I know my bike better than yours."
The sht I hear at an auto service center echoes in my ears when I see this pic tbh.
atlasraven@reddit
Does your boss tell you to upsell 1st thing?
blueskyredmesas@reddit
I'm reading this as a quote from the person taking their car in.
I mean, I get it, it works. But survivorship bias kicks in at some point. Can't be an example of "You say I need to fix it but it's working fine" if it wrecks.
ornithobiography@reddit
The opposite, he would tell me to get the vehicle in, and get the car out as soon as possible.
Necessary-Break5978@reddit
That's done a few miles, what's another thousand miles more to go before that needs changing still good to me
atlasraven@reddit
Still some miles left.
