Garmin Pilot slow chart issue

Hello! In light of the CFI discount for garmin pilot, as well as additional features included for less than ForeFlight, I figured I’d give it a try. I do like it, though there are some things that are much different. And the logbook feature isn’t as polished.
However, I am having an issue with the charts. As you can see from this video, the IFR charts are slow to load and often are blurry for a good 10 seconds. This is very inconvenient when flying, and I was curious if anyone has a fix.

Because they're not downloaded or "packaged."

They are downloaded. This was in the air, with no internet connection.

Was your tablet on airplane mode with no attempt at a wifi or cell connection?

I don’t believe it was, I’ll give that a shot when flying tomorrow.

Well that would be why...

Maybe so, still doesn’t really explain why this is only an issue with garmin pilot though.

Ultimately its because their UX isn't as polished as Foreflight.

You need to tell us what iPad you are using.

iPad Pro 11”, 2nd gen.

Fix? Have better internet. Or download offline maps.

Sounds like processor is too slow to keep up, upgrade hardware or turn off the settings/visuals you don’t need (if any, not a pilot).

That could be, though it’s an iPad Pro. Is a few generations old, but has no problem running on ForeFlight. Seems more like an optimization issue with garmin pilot since ForeFlight runs fine.

Are you sure you have that area downloaded? Might be pulling from online source.

Meh, just checked my own. Similar layer redrawing as the clip. Guess its never bothered me enough to realize it was there.

My thoughts too
