Uniform shirts

What supplier do you like for uniform shirts? My last couple were from jetseam and they were fine, but the company hasn’t answered any of my questions on their new sizing…so moving on. The company supplied brooks brothers shirts don’t fit well and worse…aren’t wrinkle free.

The M&H bamboo is surprisingly good for that trash company. Tapered sizes are still pretty big so tailoring is necessary if you’re not fat.

I like A Cut Above better than the others. I've been through them, Flight, and JetSeam, but I always tend to end up back at ACA. Not because I think they are amazing shirts, but I find the compromises with them are less than with the others.

What are the compromises?

The QC on their cuts is a little lacking, the seams don't line up on each shoulder fairly often, for example. Not something you can really notice when wearing it, but definitely when ironing it.
That's about it, really. Otherwise, I like them. I like the tab on the open pockets where I can clip my ID, as I don't like lanyards.

Sadly it used to not be like this. Back when I first bough them in 2015/2016 they were great. Then they changed factories and the fit became horrible.

a cut above were greats IMO until about 2016. Then they moved the factory and changed the fit. Ever since then their Tropo shirts just dont hit the same.
I stopped buying them

Nobody knows about it but BomCrewMall. They make custom tailored pilot shirts. Top tier. Very hands on customer service and you’re able to highly customize the shirts.

ACA, cirrus, fitted if you have an athletic build.

Been happy with the standard issue brooks brothers tbh. Just get them tailored and iron them at the hotel room

Brooks brothers are the worst pilot shorts I’ve ever worn. Broke my neck out in rashes, wouldn’t stay tucked. Tried several others that were all good but sheesh never touching brooks again
McCheesing@reddit
Tuck trick for any shirt — tuck your undershirt into your underwear, then tuck your shirt into your trousers basically layering them.
MehCFI@reddit
Yep did that and those shirts still came undone every time I sat down or stood up

Ugh.. lame

I wear A Cut Above, and their customer support is super responsive.

I am in the process of moving and found six unopened pilot Whites from 2015 & 16. I am actually 30 lbs lighter now, than I was back then. Where to sell them?
KITTYONFYRE@reddit
poshmark, ebay, there’s another big thrifting site I forget the name of too

Flight shirts are amazing. I throw out whatever shirts I get and wear those
Spiritual_Ad5511@reddit
Flight is pretty good

Their sizing was wonky for me. I’m probably 20lbs over weight, and I couldn’t find a size that fit both my “abs” and the rest of me. I looked like a stuffed sausage when the shoulders fit, and like a weather balloon when the belly fit.
mitch_kramer@reddit
Yeah I like the Flight shirts because they are super comfortable but their sizing is interesting. I ordered a large athletic fit and it was massive. I replaced it with a slim fit and it was pretty good but maybe just a little too tight. Maybe a medium athletic would be the best but I'm not sending a shirt back and forth 4 times to try to find a size. They definitely need an "average build" shirt because I feel like the difference between the two they offer is pretty extreme.
Also the flight shirts definitely trap pit smell for some reason. No shirt I've ever had seems to hang on to smell like they do.
YugeWaterBottle@reddit
Honestly the best shirts right now are Airman Pilot Shirts. Second best would be Flight, but they've gone downhill too.

Facebook flight shirts were fine. Little blousy on me and several others but hey anecdotal evidence. Held onto dirt like a MOTHERFUCKER. The collars would be black after two trips. Hot heavy bleach mode wouldn’t do it. Needed the drill. They were cheap though.
Currently using Cut Above Cirrus series. Heavier material, nicer overall. Trying two other cuts from them but we’ll see.
Started with m&h. DOGSHIT. Dog. Shit.

A Cut Above Altus are the best shirts I’ve found, I’ve bought nearly one of every type and those are the only ones I’ve kept and bought more of.
