First a little bit about my situatuon, i am from the baltics, estonia, we have state funded aviation academy, which upon complition gives you cpl and frozen atpl license, its totally free for me, but the catch is that you only get 215 flight hours and a degree in physics. A friend of my family has also went there, he now works in norwegian air, but he had to pay 169000€ for participating in cadett programme of finnair, well, i dont have that kind of money, max what i can get is 10-20k, so my question is- is it even worth trying right now? I can choose between the fligh degree or electrical engineering one. I like em both, but the money barrier to enter the commercial flights is too much, and i cant get a loan bigger than 6000€ for studying. And whyle at it, how bad or food is the pilot lifestyle?
