so im clearing my room and have bags and bags of stuff, i know the charity shop is an option, but some charity shops arent taking in donations/ certain items, its mostly clothes, teddies and shoes and a couple trinkets, other than throwing them away (which i dont want to) how else can i get rid of them? i dont have the time to sell them all separately so any advice would be appreciated. TIA?

They're fab, really reliable. I think the only thing they won't take is bedding.

There should be donation area at your local supermarket.

It's like a clothes bin next to the bottle bank in the car park rather than the supermarket specifically collecting donations

I'm seeing this less and less near me but there is still one behind the local COOP. If OP sees this and they have a local COOP it may be a good place to start looking.

My local ASDA still has the same ones they had when I was a kid, I think its more because they cant be bothered to pay for them moving at this point though
Far_Kaleidoscope_102@reddit
Take them to your local tidy tip?

Cash for clothes or star foundation will pay per kilo x

Contact your local food bank if the toys are in fairly good condition (birthdays happen throughout the year). Have use donation bins for shoes and clothing. Blankets, fleeces and towels are sometimes in demand by animal shelters. Homeless shelters, any place that shelters people. Local kids centres would take the toys again if they are in fairly good condition. Could advertise on free Facebook marketplace. If you do that would recommend meeting up as opposed to giving out your exact address.

Olio but also look on the wanted section - found a lady running the local clothes swap, food bank etc group and she collects bags from us as we have lots of clothes & duplicate kitchen things etc.

Oooh icollectclothes.co.uk for most things. Check them out. Free collection whenever you choose.
Ive used them a few times it’s great. Maybe there is similar in your area if not them.
Or put them up for collection to anyone in the local area. Facebook or next door or whatever people love free shit

I've had good luck on sites like Freegle or the app Trash Nothing. It's purely for giving away stuff for free so people tend to be pretty polite and there's no scammers.
Abwettar@reddit
Offer them up for someone doing a car boot sale. If you're happy for stuff to go for free someone will take it all off you.
Some charity shops are much more lenient too with labels and things. You might find one that isn't as strict.

Try the donation bins at Tesco or Morrisons.

I leave items on the wall outside my flat, a few at a time and weather permitting. Most things go in a day or 2.

I'm in a couple of community groups on FB, two women collect for a local hostel. So post up and see who wants xx

I just did a big clear out of my wardrobe. Some decent stuff in there but I did not have the time to list it all on eBay or vinted. I just put it on my city’s community page on FB and it was gone with in an hour..

There's a company you can drop off/send bags of clothes to and then they pay you per kg. Not sure what the name is though

Find a donation bin there’s all kinds of ones but the clothes you should definitely find one, many schools and large shops will have some

If the clothes are clean you can put them into a collection bin that’s at many supermarkets and other points. I have one in front of my flat yet can’t motivate myself. Let me see if I can find a map.

The only 2 I can find because google is being location specific but if you google your local area I’m sure there are others!

I use Olio for getting rid of a lot of stuff, but it will depend on how active it is in your area.
NewPumpkin8217@reddit
For the clothes and shoes at least, if you're not worried about getting money for them it could be worth searching for your nearest clothes banks, mine's at the local Asda alongside the glass banks.
When I've had to do clear outs I've just filled my car up with plastic bags of clothes to drop in those banks the next time I went to do a shop.
lolarentagain@reddit
Separate all the clothes from the other stuff and put them into one of those big metal donation bins. The charity shop should take the trinkets. Stick the teddies on FB marketplace or Gumtree.
