Flea find today with a bunch of other unopened tech. I was trying to figure out when this would have dropped to $30. Likely old "old new" stock?

I remember when this was $100 a stick.

There was a massive plunge in the price of SDRAM over 2001. I remember buying a 128MB DIMM, then a few months later, buying two 256MB DIMMs because their price had dropped to like $70CAD...
Of course, this is exactly the time when Intel tried to push RDRAM, which... was not at those kinds of prices.

There was also a massive shortage leading to very high prices around those years. Later I heard the NSA was just buying all RAM for their spying apparatus that year.

Used to be 29.99... now it's 129.99 and goes up 50 % next week so be quick!

What's crazy? Is I have seen sticks of SDRAM, more or less exactly like that one? Used on eBay for about $30 lmao

Oh damn, I remember RAM prices absolutely dropping in the early 2000s. I think at one point 256 sticks were down around this price($30). I maxed out my BP6 with 768MB of RAM. It was unstoppable.

Well the datecodes are for May 2002, so it was probably on sale in the second half of 2002, which more or less lines up with my memory of RAM prices.

I need to get some pictures. I've got some soft baggie ram. I think it's like 8mb. It's a roll of ten or more sticks.

That’s so 2002.
