NomadicSoull@reddit
Bunch of white people complaining about the exact issue that got Trump such a higher than expected percentage of immigrant and Mexican-American votes…. Out of touch, self righteous, white knight morons
NomadicSoull@reddit
lol
AbueloOdin@reddit
Let's say you have tens of millions of people breaking a law about paperwork but no real societal or personal harm. Like the issue is constantly"immigration is wanted, but illegal immigration is unwanted". At a certain point, you'd have to question the process around the paperwork, right?
Like, maybe, the law is fucked up?
But then, if the law is fucked up, maybe the overt hatred of our fellow humans is also fucked up?
Exciting-Parfait-776@reddit
And if the law isn’t fucked up. And people still come illegally?
AbueloOdin@reddit
The fact that we have so many people doing this means there is a structural problem to address. If it isn't the laws surrounding it, do you have a different structural reason?
Because, again, there doesn't seem to be any societal or personal harm. We aren't saying "stop immigration". We're saying "stop illegal immigration". Maybe a bit of root cause analysis is due?
waitstaph@reddit
What if the structural problem is our country is stable and rich and there are many countries that are neither and that creates an incentive regardless of anything related to American immigration law, and the problems of other countries aren’t necessarily for us to address?
Sea-Veterinarian1905@reddit
The country is neither one of those anymore. The US usually destroys their countries and steals their resources. That’s how the US becomes rich. Most 5th graders understand this. Are you oblivious to the fact you live in a country of thieves?
waitstaph@reddit
That is not how the US becomes rich, and if you think that, or think we aren’t a stable or rich country anymore I don’t know what to tell you
Sea-Veterinarian1905@reddit
Why the fuck do you think we are stealing Venezuela’s , Syria’s, Iraq’s etc., oil? Wait, you don’t understand how things work do you? How old are you?
waitstaph@reddit
Setting aside the question of “stealing”, crude oil imports in total are about 1.5% of GDP. America is primarily a services based economy. America is rich for a lot of reasons, it isn’t because of how the US gets it’s oil from those countries, which by the way count for 1%, 0%, and 4% of our oil imports respectively. 2/3 of American oil imports are from Canada and Mexico.
Sea-Veterinarian1905@reddit
We don’t use the oil here, we sell it.
AbueloOdin@reddit
Do you want to solve the issue at hand or not? I'm being serious. Do you actually want to do anything about it?
Because... I mean... If you aren't willing to change the laws and you aren't willing to make things better elsewhere, then the next solution would be to make things worse here. To materially wreck the US economy such that levels drop, similar to COVID times.
Is that what you want?
wprodrig@reddit
The issue at hand is that the previous administration let the illegals in with no consequences. We are trying to fix that problem.
Sea-Veterinarian1905@reddit

The issue isn't the immigrants are illegal, but that the previous administration let them in with no consequences?
How exactly do you expect to solve that? You got a time machine?
And what about the illegal immigrants this administration is letting in with no consequences?0
Certain-Coyote1541@reddit
It didn't let illegals in. Very much the opposite. It created a LEGAL way to allow immigrants to present their case at the border, get registered in the CBP app and be allowed to work (which is what they want, work!) until their day in court came. That until Trump came. He eliminated the program and declared over night that the millions of people that held that status were illegals. That's what ICE is after now. I know because I unfortunately have a cousin who works for ICE. Their favorite place to corner people is coming out of court. He doesn't like that, but he is unemployable and he needs the job.
westex74@reddit
Doesn’t seem to be any societal harm?
LOLOLOL
Vivid_Possibility_19@reddit
So you are saying you are a globalist. That's all you gotta say.
FluidFisherman6843@reddit
When they start arresting and deporting the people hiring them, I will believe it is about something other than racism
ritualdelowhabitual@reddit
That’s the part I genuinely don’t understand about all of this- why are employers not prosecuted? Makes zero sense to me.
MephistoHamProducts@reddit
Because those are the sacred "job creators" and donate to "tough on immigration candidates" so they'll never be touched.
Old-Football3534@reddit
Because alot of them get a waiver under the critical shortage clause. That's the part media doesn't tell us. Even amazon is hiring illegals. But the system gives them an authorization code.
vaseline202@reddit
So if we do both you’ll calm down?
saspurs311@reddit
This is the only way to stop illegal immigrants. As long as someone hires them, and knows they aren't getting trouble for it, then there will still be those that try. Prosecute the employers, then when they stop hiring illegally, then maybe the ones wanting to come to America will do it the right way. I'm all for having the chance for a better life, but do it the right and legal way.
Substantial-Part-700@reddit
It makes perfect sense when you realize corporations and small businesses belong to a caste above the rest of us. Welcome to capitalism, I guess.
Vols_DadTX@reddit
And yet not one citizen is precluded from that “caste” system. ANYONE in the this country can start a business and become successful. Hence, why people kill themselves to get here. It’s just, some people do it really well, the rest complain about their inability to do anything but work for someone else.
Academic_Anything447@reddit
They are being prosecuted actually: Employers are prosecuted or penalized when they knowingly hire or continue to employ unauthorized workers, or when they demonstrate a "pattern or practice" of such violations. As of 2026, enforcement has intensified, with ICE increasing its workforce by 120% and reclassifying more administrative errors as "substantive" violations that carry mandatory fines.
FluidFisherman6843@reddit
It makes no sense because you are looking for logic and reason.
They are look at it with hate and jealousy, so it makes perfect sense to them
Academic_Anything447@reddit
Enforcement of the law is racist? Make that one make sense 🤷♀️
GettingBy-Podcast@reddit
Anne Frank broke the law. The Nazis enforced the law. Now does it make sense to you?
Academic_Anything447@reddit
You aren’t seriously comparing our immigration laws to the holocaust are you? What a horrible and reprehensible thing to do.. Comparing perfectly normal and common sense immigration laws to the genocide of an entire people, minimizes the horrors that the jews experienced.. Is this what the woke ideology has morphed into these days? And then you have the nerve to wonder why nobody takes you seriously
GettingBy-Podcast@reddit
Yes I am.
Academic_Anything447@reddit
You woke crowd is horrible. That is why no one takes you seriously or cares about what you have to say
GettingBy-Podcast@reddit
Categorize and dismiss. Those flights to El Savador were business as usual. It was like the were concentrating a certain group of people. Hmmmmm!
Academic_Anything447@reddit
Ya.. that’s just absurd and ridiculous.. You are comparing the genocide of a people to the legal deportation of illegal aliens. Deportation of people who are not in a country legally is perfectly normal by international standards. Almost every country in the world will deport someone who is residing in their country illegally.. This is nothing new, and for whatever reason the woke crowd has latched on to this as something that just started happening recently 🤣
jarlstridr@reddit
Arguing with these people is life playing chess with a pigeon. Some people have a vested interested in purposefully misunderstanding the topic
Academic_Anything447@reddit
Seriously.. what is wrong with them? lol
GettingBy-Podcast@reddit
You just don't understand. Laws can be unjust, and should be ignored, and resisted. Jim Crow ring a bell?
Danyboii@reddit
What’s easier: debating the merits of mass illegal immigration or saying you are racist?
Academic_Anything447@reddit
Right.. much easier to just accuse someone of being a racist if they don’t agree with their woke open borders ideology
TacosNGuns@reddit
Melania worked illegally as a model without a work visa. Seems what’s good for her was just fine.
Academic_Anything447@reddit
She came with initially with a visitor visa in August of 96’, but obtained her work authorization by October of 96’
TacosNGuns@reddit
Two months in NYC without work? Coming from the poorest hole in Europe? Illegal labor 100%.
noncongruent@reddit
It's already been confirmed that she modeled for pay at least ten times while here without a work visa, and that doesn't include any off-the-books escort gigs she did. She lied about violating her visa on her application for her green card, and she lied about it again on her application for citizenship. She also used Barron as her anchor baby to apply for citizenship, he only has one citizen parent, Donald. In a sane universe she'd have been deported after having her green card revoked. If Donald follows through with his denaturalization and deportation threats then if we still have a democracy and a Democrat gets power that Democrat better damn well do the same to Melania.
Sea-Veterinarian1905@reddit
She was a prostitute. She had a kid with Epstein and Trump got his sloppy seconds.
westex74@reddit
You are 100% correct. We can solve illegal immigration’s with the stroke of a pen - $25,000 fine per illegal per day for each illegal employed.
But we don’t. That’s how you know all of this going on currently is theater. Nothing more.
Empress_Clementine@reddit
Deporting them to where? Jail/prison makes sense, but remember that other countries actually have their own immigration laws, and wouldn’t take them. Which is ironic, no?
Sea-Veterinarian1905@reddit
I’m pretty sure some Colombians were sent to El Salvador.
Empress_Clementine@reddit
And natural born US citizens should be sent where?
Sea-Veterinarian1905@reddit
I’m not saying to deport them, but there is precedent of people being sent to jails in other countries than the ones they are from. The companies that hire illegal workers should face severe punishment. Punish the rich, not the poor.
Yak-Electrical@reddit
But they are going after the people hiring them. The problem is you just dont see it. But there are also the people who get rid of all those files and turn on the employees and play stupid. Rat em all out to save themselves which happens quiet a lot
sandmanO6@reddit
I’m all for that
Maxcrss@reddit
The people hiring them are citizens
jaakrabbit@reddit
If the law that allows x amount of legal and vetted immigrants to come in and assimilate into the country is too low, then maybe get Congress to change that law and let more come in. Letting millions come in illegally that we know nothing about is definitely not the answer. You guys just love to say the world is better than the US and we should follow their lead. I’m not sure of another country that has open borders.
AbueloOdin@reddit
So you agree that the current law is fucked up?
jaakrabbit@reddit
I definitely think it is messed up that millions of people are trying to do it the right way and actually follow the law, while others just decide to break it and walk on in. I’m pretty sure you don’t care about that at all.
balmayne@reddit
Jim Crow Law still exists till this day but in the mind, every man is created equal, endowed by its creator.
Wizzmer@reddit
What if those entering actually killed humans? What if they are breaking laws here? What if they are coming here because they are wanted in their home country?
I am a Mexico permanent resident. I had to prove my wealth so that I wouldn't be a burden on the Mexican government. Why not we enforce all the same laws on both sides of the border? Let's be fair about immigration going both ways and root out the people who are coming here because they are wanted in their home country? Which one of those issues is unfair?
noncongruent@reddit
Immigrants, legal or otherwise, historically commit far fewer crimes in this country than native-born citizens. The reasons for that are obvious, the worst consequences for citizens are nowhere near as bad as those for immigrants. Being deported back to a country you fled with your daughter can be a death sentence for your daughter since the gangs we exported to Central America have the reputation of raping little girls to death.
Wizzmer@reddit
Probably behooves one to not break the law.
noncongruent@reddit
Being here without documentation and applying for asylum is breaking the law?
Wizzmer@reddit
You go through the legal process and are here seeking asylum, you break the law while waiting, that will be very unfavorable for your asylum case. You better try to keep your nose clean until you receive your verdict.
AbueloOdin@reddit
If a vastly higher than average number did, this would be a good point. But they don't. They're most just people trying to find work.
Wizzmer@reddit
So you'll stand up and defend a few killers. It's just a whole bunch that aren't cool?
AbueloOdin@reddit
No. I'm going to stand up for all of the good people who are being unjustly labeled killers.
But, make no mistake, I don't believe the line "legal immigration, not illegal immigration" until you start taking people like [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/Dallas/comments/1svkif9/comment/oia6x3s/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) to task.
Wizzmer@reddit
OK so you are ok with the US doing their due diligence in vetting all immigrants entering, yes?
AbueloOdin@reddit
You can come back to me when you're done with him. I want you here. He doesn't.

nosleep4eternity@reddit
No societal harm? Seriously?
kane_thehuman@reddit
Illegal immigrants pay taxes, work hard, and are less likely to commit crime than natural born citizens. This is well researched. Why are we making it more difficult than it needs to be to become a citizen?
trippydippy669@reddit
You mean paying taxes with fictitious SS#’s and SS cards bought from certain places in the city of Dallas? You mean like the hundreds of them arrested every week for DUI , no drivers license , no insurance, with many of them causing accidents ? You mean like the illegal immigrants running these drug houses/labs that have been raided every couple of months? The ones with cartel ties ? Many do work hard and are good people but I don’t give AF because many of them aren’t and I know this from dealing with and witnessing first hand. My grandparents came here through Ellis Island the legal way, assimilated, learned English and did everything asked of them. These MF just can’t cut in line and take a short cut and think that they can do as they please. I and many many others will NOT allow it period.

If your ancestors came through Ellis Island then they came at a time when the immigration process was much much simpler. They didn't need a "short cut". And natural born Americans at the time had the same phobias about those immigrants as you do now with ours. Yeah.
CrimsonAllah@reddit
The law of supply and demand would tell us otherwise.
What happens when you increase a population? You increase the supply of cheap labor, and decrease the supply of jobs. But you have also increase the demand of jobs from workers because of the increase supply of workers. Guess what? You get reduced wages because the supply of workers out paces the demand of jobs.
Sea-Veterinarian1905@reddit
lol, go back to school.
AbueloOdin@reddit
But then the argument is immigration in general should be reduced, not welcomed. And the phrase I'm constantly told is "we like legal immigrants, not illegal immigrants."
CrimsonAllah@reddit
Correct, we don’t need immigration. We need to correct our social issues among the existing citizenry instead of trying to fill the country to the brim with cheap labor and people who can’t support themselves, thus exacerbating the issues we already have to content with.
As a citizen, you should be the only priority the government has to concern itself with.
Academic_Anything447@reddit
I mean if they are illegal they are illegal and they are breaking the law.. They should be deported… End of story… This isn’t something that is new 🤷♀️
BearWithHat@reddit
Yeah the jews should have understood it was the LAW. The slaves really didn't understand that if it's a LAW it means it absolute and righteous and must be enforced without question. Not questioning things is exactly how we advanced society. /S

BearWithHat@reddit
I've seen people try to reason with you, but it's like trying to reason with a rock my guy.
kane_thehuman@reddit
It's called an analogy
Just because something is illegal doesn't make it unethical and so maybe it's worth reflecting on if the law is the thing that needs changing.
Academic_Anything447@reddit
Nothing about it needs changing.. Of course we should have an immigration policy and deport those who are here illegally. I mean you can’t be serious right? 🤣🤣🤣
AbueloOdin@reddit
Why?
Why is this law like this? Why is this the punishment? Fucked up laws existed in the past. Would you have the same reaction in those years to those laws?
Even immigration laws have changed in the past. Clearly this isn't "end of story".
Academic_Anything447@reddit
Wait what? Are you suggesting that Illegal aliens should not be deported? You can’t be serious.. Seriously.. what is wrong with you? 😂😂😂
BearWithHat@reddit
I would rather just deport people like you IMO, you're type usually makes life harder for everyone who isn't like yourself
AbueloOdin@reddit
Actually yes. Make everyone of them legal and be done with it. Then there wouldn't be a single illegal immigrant in the country. BOOM. Problem solved.
Much cheaper than deploying a surveillance state.

Academic_Anything447@reddit
So legitimate reasons for seeking asylum would be a well founded fear of persecution in their home country.. This doesn’t mean that we should let just anyone into the country.. Otherwise they are perfectly fine staying right where they are at, or they can pursue immigrating legally.. IE following the law
Pumpnethyl@reddit
It’s a bit more nuanced. Hundreds of thousands of people were granted legal asylum. They are also being rounded up, even though they can live and work under their hearing. Did we allow too many people in over the months that high numbers were crossing? probably. But that is outside of this topic
westex74@reddit
We need to start doing it like literally every other country does (Canada and New Zealand immediately come to mind) where you have to make a case on “why” we should let you in. In Canada. If you don’t have an education or skill set, you ain’t gettin’ in. New Zealand is even worse. Usually a hefty fee is attached. It blows my mind we let in an ocean wave of illiterate, uneducated, unskilled people and are the. Surprised our communities turn to shit.
Hands off? No. Deport ‘em all.
AbueloOdin@reddit

Muzzledbutnotout@reddit
No real societal harm? Including known violent criminals, terrorists, and extremists? No. Deport every illegal alien. Follow reasonable laws or stay out.
Almaegen@reddit
>but no real societal or personal harm
Thats a massively incorrect claim.
kane_thehuman@reddit
Immigrants are a net positive for us. Even illegal immigrants pay taxes and are less likely to commit crime than natural born Americans. The whole country was built by immigrants. Why not just streamline the whole process and make it easier to immigrate legally?
Nightman2122@reddit
If we have millions of people drunk driving maybe we need to start questioning the laws!!!!!
AbueloOdin@reddit
That's an excellent example!
Why are all these people driving drunk? Are they driving drunk because there is a lack of alternative options? Are they driving drunk because the bars are too far from their homes?
Something is structurally wrong surrounding drunk driving in US. So yes! We should investigate the laws causing more drunk driving!
Thank you!
Maxcrss@reddit
No. Not at all. Tens of millions people around the world steal and assault people, that doesn't make it ok. That's a dumb opinion.

AbueloOdin@reddit
If that is your stance, cool. But then your issue is with immigration, not illegal immigration.
NetworkParticular267@reddit
Societal harm = 1)the saturation of citizens rights to employment, regardless of demand. 2)the siphoning of dollars out of economy into third world econs, driving prices up and keeping prices inflated for citizens 3)the numerous crime rate increases, favella’s, hoods, and drug crimes/culture in areas everywhere. 4)burdening of systems such as roads and road safety, welfare via fraud, healthcare systems, schools, etc. due to unaccounted and near unaccountable people.
Personal harm= 1) Friend of mine, who is a minority and family came as true refugee’s from war, have been hit by drunk illegals who tried to walk away from the wreck. 2) pretty sure many other people with personal stories too.
Regardless illegal immigration is indeed a problem and everyone willing to break that law is someone who should be subject to never enter this country again. As much pity as I have for people in dire circumstances, that does not mean a free pass into my home. Come here legally. Bring skills and learn the land. Today they have YouTube. Become king of your country like nayib bukele and turn your country into a paradise. Instead of being a pestering invader looking for a buck to make your retirement in Mexico be useful to your country, even die for it, and make it great. It has happened in our time where one Hispanic leader was able to make a country a truly livable and respectable despite the circumstances. Strive to do the same.

Certain-Coyote1541@reddit
The problem is they were Legal until Trump decided they weren't. 90% of ICE detentions are people that legally applied for an asylum during the Biden administration, don't have a criminal history and we're doing everything by the book. My neighbor mom and sister included.
westex74@reddit
Do you understand the process of asylum? You can’t travel through multiple countries because you wish to claim asylum here.
The sole purpose of asylum is to find a safe place. If you travel through multiple safe spaces, you are no longer claiming asylum. And you are supposed to claim asylum at a border checkpoint. Not sneak in and then yell “Here I am!!! I claim asylum”!!!!
RobGabGusMoma@reddit
To claim asylum, the person must be standing on US SOIL!!! THAT'S the law!!! And they actually do it exactly by our laws!!! Most of those being rounded up have been doing everything legally and ByThe Book, for years, some for DECADES, because the systems is underfunded and understaffed!!! Many of them were allowed in under drumpft's first term and even under other Republican Presidents!!! What's happening now is illegal and just f-ing cruel!!! Not to mention all those profiting off all of the privatized shithole concentration camps that they quickly dump everyone into before bothering to confirm their identities beyond the color of their skin or the language they speak!!! No Due Process, No valid warrants, no access to obtaining help or contacting loved ones... and WE are paying $1000 per day, per person!!! WTAF!!!

ICE is detaining and deporting people who are LEGALLY in the immigration process, even snatching folks out of court houses and harassing anyone who's Hispanic looking on the street.
Now shoo, chud! Back to 4chan with you! Yah! 🤺

That’s right. And good on ICE. Those folks are in the legal process because a terribly weak President allowed them to enter illegally and put them in the legal process, in violation of U.S. immigration law.
You guys hate Trump. That’s obvious. But where would this country be had we elected Kamala and the border remained open? Donald Trump likely saved this country. Or at least gave it a stay of execution.

“Almost”? The fact that every time they do one of these - for any “cause” - it’s the same people with the same signs using the same fonts and design language makes it incredibly obvious that this is all orchestrated bullshit.
noncongruent@reddit
Yes, it must be orchestrated because letters can be rearranged to say different things, meaning one doesn't have to spend money making new words over and over again. Gee, it's like some guy named Johannes Gutenberg invented a way to rearrange letters for that same exact reason way back in 1450.
NJB9891@reddit
Do you know what orchestrated means? Because you just described orchestration.

I agree.. these people have to be delusional.. In what world is it a good idea to flood the country with illegal immigrants? IMO the democrats lost this last election in a landslide largely because of the immigration issue.. And now they want to double down? They aren’t doing a very good job of listening.. loremipsumot@reddit
People have done that. There were tons of protests about Gaza before the 2024 election. There still are every now and again.

Gee I broke the law in this country,I’ll just go to another one. Gee i voted for a crook that promised to give me money but the country went broke, I’ll just go to another and see what I can get for free. Gee I’m a high paid lawyer and I like getting my lawn mowed, house cleaned, house built, eating out for much less money, I’m not the one displaced out of those jobs by low cost illegal labor so why do I care? My drug cartel employer wants me to migrate to another control and help him market and expand his illegal business there, so what if it creates more crime and misery for the low income poor there, my country is poor and they will adapt like me.
It all makes sense. Right?

Hands off immigrants! Handcuffs on illegal immigrants!
cuberandgamer@reddit
Ima be real, I don't think I really care if someone is here legally or not. As long as they aren't causing trouble, who even has the mental energy to give a damn
SpeedSignal7625@reddit
Me. the presence of extra consumers increases demand for and price of housing, vehicles, and energy, and especially UNINSURED MOTORIST insurance. Send them all back. Undocumented, and H1-B’s too. Too many firms are laying people off. We don’t need to import those who fail to culturally assimilate to do jobs robots are now performing.
noncongruent@reddit
To address a couple of points: The number one factor driving up energy prices is data center construction. Immigrants have zero effect on that. Secondly, some states like CA allow undocumented immigrants to buy car insurance, and they do, in very large numbers. Some states like Texas have made it very difficult if not impossible for immigrants to buy insurance, and that's a direct contributor to the fact that one in seven Texans has no car insurance. In fact, since less than one in twenty people in Texas is undocumented, that means the millions of other uninsured drivers in this state are citizens or otherwise here legally. And yet, despite this blatant fact, you choose to ignore all of them and focus just on undocumented people.
cuberandgamer@reddit
The economy is not a zero sum game. But I agree with your uninsured point. Otherwise I disagree
TravelTheWorldDan@reddit
Cant agree. Every time I travel internationally, I have to present myself to immigration before entering the country. And either have a travel visa already applied for or get a visa waiver if they offer one. And I’m only allowed to stay in that country for a certain amount of time. I’m going to use Thailand as an example. Because I’ve traveled there several times. Right now they allow travelers from most countries 60 day waivers to enter the country. I have to be out of that country within that amount of time. If I’m not and I’m caught, they deport me and banned me from the country for a certain amount of time depending on how long I overstay. Usually, it’s anywhere from a year to indefinitely. Also, if I’m caught working in that country, I’m immediately deported as well. America has some of the loosest immigration laws in the world. Most of the people that are for illegal immigration. Have never set foot outside of this country. There is an another country in the world that I could attempt to enter without being cleared by their immigration or their border patrol first. And I’m definitely not allowed to get a job over there.
SoggyBiscuitVet@reddit
People aren't for illegal immigration, they just don't give a damn because the majority are not competing in a job market that legal residents are even interested in.
It's real tone deaf to compare your leisure travel to those desperate to find a better life, though.
SpeedSignal7625@reddit

GettingBy-Podcast@reddit
You're a tourist, not a refugee. What are you running from when entering a foreign country?
TravelTheWorldDan@reddit
Doesn’t matter. Point is being in a country illegally is being in a country illegally. My main point is most of the people here are undocumented. Meaning they crossed without going through a proper immigration checkpoint. It’s so easy to do that here in this country. And pretty much impossible to do anywhere else.
Onefoot199@reddit
That is not actually true. The US is using Panama as a buffer state to prevent most asylum seekers from even making it to the united states.
ritualdelowhabitual@reddit
The other huge issue is that the undocumented people could be great people who are just trying to do better for themselves or they could be murderers. Nobody has clue unless they’re properly vetted.
Onefoot199@reddit
Brother, do you have to cross the Darian Gap on foot to get to immigration?
DrDuckling951@reddit
I agree with both. I’m okay with illegal who’s trying to make a living for their family and cause no harm. They also stimulate the economy as consumers. I also agree rules of the law must be enforced.
I don’t agree with how it’s being enforced - blindly with little to no prior investigation or due process.

The US is the ONLY 1st world nation that gives away tens of billions of taxpayer dollars to illegals:
FREE birthright US citizenship
FREE Medicaid
FREE Healthcare
FREE SNAP (food stamps)
FREE Section 8 housing vouchers (government picks up 80% - 95% of the rent bill)
FREE public schools
FREE public transit
FREE of state/federal income taxes since most work under the table or start "shell corporations" with stolen identities.
The list of FREE shit they get makes most taxpayers jelly. Hell, even most US Citizens can't even get these FREE perks not even military Veterans living under a bridge.
loremipsumot@reddit
False.
Federal law (the 1996 Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act) explicitly bars undocumented immigrants from most federal benefit programs, including Medicaid, SNAP, and Section 8. The exceptions are emergency medical care and public K-12 education (required by the 1982 Supreme Court ruling Plyler v. Doe).
Birthright citizenship is in the Constitution (see 14th Amendment), ratified in 1868. It applies equally to every child born on US soil regardless of their parents' status. This is a constitutional right, not a giveaway. Also, many other countries, including Canada, also have birthright citizenship. The US is not the only one.
Undocumented immigrants do pay taxes. The IRS issues Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers specifically for people who can't get a Social Security number. The Social Security Administration estimates undocumented workers contribute billions annually in payroll taxes for benefits they can never collect. Sales taxes and property taxes (including through rent) apply to everyone regardless of status.
The US is not unique. Canada, the UK, Germany, France, and other peer nations provide varying levels of public benefits to residents, including asylum seekers and some undocumented people, often more generously than the U.S. does.
Veterans experiencing homelessness is a real and serious problem. But it's caused by other things, like gaps in VA funding and mental health infrastructure, not by undocumented immigrants receiving benefits they largely don't qualify for. Getting rid of all immigrants won't fix the veterans issues. These are separate policy failures.
Mamabearfoot--808@reddit
They game the system, there are countless loopholes. One example is having an anchor baby, once they have an American child in the US, the illegal immigrant parents quality for everything I listed. Also, they use stolen identities and start corporations working on a self-employed 1099 basis, hence they don't ever pay any income taxes. You don't have to take my word for it so look it up or run it through AI.

I'm sure there are bad actors and there are loopholes. There always are in every part of society. However:
Having a citizen child does not make undocumented parents eligible for all federal benefits. The child would be eligible as a citizen, but not the parents if they are not citizens.
Self-employed people have to pay taxes too. A 1099 is not a loophole to avoid income taxes.
Mamabearfoot--808@reddit
Are you trolling? 🤣 Even the IRS has admitted to the widespread 1099-MISC scams being used by illegals to avoid paying any taxes. To ignore that is either incredibly naive or intentionally misleading.
Mamabearfoot--808@reddit
If what you claim is true then why is our current administration taking away all these federal and state benefits from illegals? 🤣
Care to comment on the loopholes our very own government documented? Here's just one of countless US government agencies exposing the sheer corruption and waste in the system:

How about placing the blame on Biden administration, who allowed 15+ million unknown people into this country. Not the communities overwhelmed, not the women and girls sex trafficking, not the sexual assault victims.
This doesn't even take into account the chaos, crime and degradation it's caused our country.

I'm guessing that since you want American immigration to be more like western Europe that you also want the other social policies prevalent there, like universal health care, high taxes to support social programs like subsidized housing and free higher education, highly effective transit systems, etc? Every time states look into claims of illegal immigrants voting, they have not found an election that was somehow swung by illegal immigrant votes.
