I know you don’t mean it as an insult, but we still have a lot of differences compared to other countries, so I wouldn’t really call us fully Balkan. The reason Albania is relatively poor is because we were under communism, not because we’re somehow “peak Balkan”.

yeah, you are getting defensive. and countries around here like to pretend. As you like to larp as southern italy, hungarians always grasp at the monarchy.

what im saying is that we should be self critical, but appreciate stuff about being balkans. because we throw away a lot of genuine values when we flee the negative stereotypes.

no shame in being poor. and there are values like tightly knit society, being open to social interaction, critical thinking of formal order, out of the box thinking in practical stuff, enjoying life without shame, not giving a fuck about unimportant stuff, humanity, emotional sincerity in family, many more. and as the global norms are built around protestant values, these values get more importance, not less.

what i mean when im sayin you are extremely balkan is that you lost the least of these values as far as i noticed.

I think Kosovo. It has Serbs and Albanians two of the most stereotyped balkan folks, powerty, post communism, and is a drog heaven.

Also they were fighting for freedom many times, and several manslaughter happened within its borders, which is also a balkan special.
