What have your experiences been if you are a single queer/sapphic/lesbian woman, and 48 or older, and you have retired/moved by yourself to Thailand or the Philippines?

I have found a lot of insight from younger women or women, that aren't queer and there is always information from men about their experiences. I really need to hear about life from women like me. I am 50, retiring early, and I want to move overseas and travel. I am debating about Thailand or the Philippines as my base.

Thais care little about the who, how and what of your sexuality.

Tbh I didn’t find the Philippines to be welcoming at all. There were few welcoming people amongst the crowds of faces. I went for 4 weeks back in 2019 and I wouldn’t return. Thailand was lovely however and are much more renowned for being LTGBQ+ friendly.

Where did you visit when in PH?

Very touristy places If I remember correctly, Manila, Boracay, the chocolate hills and the rice terraces.
The rice terraces was the only thing I’d bother with again. The food was sub par for most of the trip too, good in some parts but the average was below what I’d call decent.
