Can you place the accent on THE MERCHANT character? He really hams up dialogue, where do you think he is from?

The voice actor is Canadian. The accent is distinctly the "North American trying to do British" that's a bit of 1800s London, a bit of West Country (Devon & Cornwall, pirates and farmers) and a bit of modern Cockney (East London)

This is exactly it. Me and my old flatmate used to ask each other what the other was buying/selling all the time for absolutely no reason and managed to perfect this stupid nonsense accent 💖

Modem cockney is almost dead. Go to East London. It isn't Cockney any longer.

Modem?
We talking 56k or ADSL bruv?
CakieStephie@reddit
Agree with this. Posh cockney I would say.
Shannoonuns@reddit
He sounds Australian. The Australian man from the boys trying to do a cockney accent.

Oi oi Karl Urban is kiwi not AussieÂ

Same thing to most Brits.
One is made up of deported English crooks and the other is probably deported Welsh crooks judging by the sheep shagfer jokes

Honestly as a kid I didn’t even clock him as trying to do any British accent. I always thought he was Australian or south African or something. It’s a funny thing, it’s a poor attempt at an accent but became iconic anyway

Same, always thought he was Australian.

Its a West Country pirate accent with a touch of cockney thrown in.
