Texas Tax Fee Weekend for Storm/Emergency Prep

Since this weekend is tax-free weekend for emergency preps in Texas, does anyone know of any notable sales that are going on this weekend that will combine on top of the tax free exemption?

Non Texan here. Can I ask what is going on? Like is it the same weekend every year? What does it cover? Never heard of tax free weekend.

We have sales tax free weekends in August for school supplies, clothes, etc. There is a tax free weekend now for hurricane/disaster items until Sunday night.
This weekend was very poorly advertised and I'd say the majority of Texans aren't aware of it. The August tax free weekends though.....everyone here knows about them.

I'm just hearing about it. I get the feeling this is one of those things they don't really want to be taken advantage of by too many people - it costs them revenue - they just want the credit for saying they offered it.

100 percent correct. If they cared, they'd do something about the electrical infrastructure instead of putting in a 30 year surcharge on residents bills after the 2021 storm. But here we are.

Thats cool that they do that tho! My state doesn't do anything like that i believe. I will have to double check! Thank you!
