When we cleaned out the house after my parents passed away (too young 😢) I found a bunch of old notes!! I sat on the floor in my high school bedroom for the last time and read all of them. It was crazy to go back in time like that! If you found old notes from the 90s what would they likely say?? Can you fold them still? This is SO much better than texting- the kids don’t even know what they are missing….

It's written in futhark, which I called Dwarfish at the time since I'd only ever seen it on my copies of LOTR and THE HOBBIT. I managed to find a guide for it somewhere in a library and figured out how to write transliterations of English using it, then taught it to my bestie and my GF at the time, lol. Never ran into a language/Tolkien nerd teacher, thank goodness.

When I broke up with my first boyfriend, I tossed everything he had given me into a dumpster at a school and set it in fire. The cops came to see what we were up to. It was summer and I wanted a safe space to burn it. The cop commended my logic and then followed me home in my car..... don't think it would've gone so smoothly with the cops today

Nope! It would likely have not gone as smooth. We got away with so much more than kids ever will again. I can’t tell you how many “Cops! Run!!” I heard during the 90s!

Her gym class did mile walks around the neighborhood the school was in. We would just leave the class and skip the rest of the day and smoke a bunch of pot at someone’s house.

I have a big box of notes from my ex (high school sweethearts) that I saved. Post divorce the relationship has now turned borderline toxic, but I figure my daughter might want to read them 🤷♀️
Most of them are variations of “I can’t wait to see/spend time with you.” At the time, my interpretation put the emphasis on “you,” but what it ended up being for him was can’t wait to “have sex again.”
