PBI Palm beach TFR planning

Hey gang, me and the family will be flying into PBI next weekend Apr 30-May 4. I know the area is on again off again TFR-central for VIP/Trump. Looking for some local knowledge - obviously if he’s not there, getting in isn’t an issue. I’m more concerned with VIP TFR activation while we are parked there. Is there generally ample notice? Ie a couple days. In case I need to move the airplane. I’m assuming the inner ring is a complete no-fly zone, regardless of IFR or TSA inspection, etc. This will be a part 91 operation.

It was my understanding that you could operate it just had to be on a filed plan and couldn’t be for training. You could still file to leave the TFR though

Not the inner ring my friend. The Trump TFR shuts down KPBI and KLNA to GA traffic entirely.

Oh. Thats shitty. Guess I’m glad my airport is outer ring but there should be some mechanism to allow it.

There is technically. You can register for TSA screening at a gateway airport no less than 24 hours prior, and it is possible. Typically only jets are taking that route however, most other operators just choose to go into the outer ring on a filed flight plan

They say no one in government has gotten in trouble for saying now…
You’ll see that all the traffic that would go into PNI or LNA has to go elsewhere. This is how all POTUS TFRs work the inner and the outer ring.

Just go to Stuart. His TFRs pop up short notice at times, get extended, end early, TSA has to be there. I wouldn’t park at PBI longer than a few hours on the weekends.

Would be better for us to be on the south side. FXE a good one?
Yellowtelephone1@reddit
F45 is an option too. They have a 24 hr FBO too.

BCT if you’re going south

BCT event fees are outrageous fyi - when President is in town

FXE is outside the 30 mi ring for the TFR (there's actually a small cut out), so you're good there. You can go to airports in the 30 mi ring, but a flight plan is required and there's some other requirements.

The PBI VIP TFRs usually go out a few days prior. You can sign up to get email alerts from FAASafety.gov.
