Anyone else do this?

Hash browns, jelly & sausage patties: savory, sweet, greasy, crunchy, salty deliciousness.
Fair_Performance4834@reddit
I bet it is good, sweet from syrup bacon or sausage is always good in my opinion, so jelly would probably give same yumminess
Kurigunde@reddit
No. Gross.
Mr_McGigglepants@reddit
Take pictures of their food rather than eating it? Millions of people
LucidRamblerOfficial@reddit
Jelly with salty foods hits so good and I don’t understand it at all
Jumped-Up_Vulgarian@reddit (OP)
It’s science.
LucidRamblerOfficial@reddit
Fuck, you got me there man
DeltaFlyer0525@reddit
I don’t do jelly, I pour maple syrup over the top and some butter between the sausage and hash brown.
Gin1639@reddit
No because I do. Hashbrown, sausage (with half cheese on both sides), pickle jalapeno, hashbrown. And either grape or apple jam for something sweet or some hot salsa for a lil extra kick
Jumped-Up_Vulgarian@reddit (OP)
Sounds fantastic.
Idk4ausername@reddit
Im hungover rn and I would 100 vibe with this.
Jumped-Up_Vulgarian@reddit (OP)
Perfect hangover food: coats the stomach with grease and starch, with plenty of salt and sugar to help the medicine go down.
luxafelicity@reddit
Haven't but would. Especially if you added a fried egg too (I am a proud ketchup with eggs eater).
throwawaybottlecaps@reddit
I like to make little sandwiches using hashbrowns as the bread. Ohh and grape jelly or maple syrup. Strawberry is fine though.
Jumped-Up_Vulgarian@reddit (OP)
Grape jelly is the preferred condiment for this.
RizzOreo@reddit
I put jelly on my ham sandwiches. Maybe I should start putting hash browns in there too.
Jumped-Up_Vulgarian@reddit (OP)
Yes!
a_little_hazel_nuts@reddit
I thought it looked good when I thought it was ketchup in between, but I'm not so sure about jelly.
anuncommontruth@reddit
Naw, give it a shot.
The gateway to this is with a McDonalds breakfast. Get a sausage biscuit and a hash browns and ask for strawberry jam.
Assemble just like OPs picture and enjoy.
EllaMcWho@reddit
Mine is grape jelly but yes this is fire 🔥
QueezyF@reddit
This isn’t much different than what I do with my SEC biscuits. Pork and fruit go good together.
Jumped-Up_Vulgarian@reddit (OP)
This is exactly what I order at McDonald’s.
beautifulcreature86@reddit
When my husband would bring me and my coworker breakfast she would always ask him, did you bring the strawberry jam? Cos even she knew i loved it. It fucking slaps!
anuncommontruth@reddit
I honestly think it's a better sweet/salty pairing than the McGriddle.
It just hits.
Skreech2011@reddit
You never put jelly on a bite of sausage or bacon? You should give it a try. The sweet really complements the salty and savory.
EmergencyGrocery3238@reddit
Ketchup is tomato jelly
a_little_hazel_nuts@reddit
Ketchup and jelly have 2 different textures.
regeya@reddit
Ketchup just doesn't have enough pectin to set like other jellies
adventurepony@reddit
bluegiant90@reddit
Tomato preserves then.
Kind-Ad-6099@reddit
And ingredients
probsthrowaway2@reddit
Not wrong tbh
Jumped-Up_Vulgarian@reddit (OP)
Ha!
kimbosliceofcake@reddit
See I was afraid it was ketchup and thought it looked gross. With jelly I’d try it 😋
Guilty-League4468@reddit
Sub jelly for some maple syrup eh?
Jumped-Up_Vulgarian@reddit (OP)
Yes.
FormingTheVoid@reddit
No, but I used to do that with the sausage and the biscuit. Do they even still have biscuits? Fuck McDonalds anyway.
BlueBlooper@reddit
Would eat but would dip the sausage and hashbrowns in ketchup instead. I think eating it like this is salt overload since youre basically eating a salt sandwich
udumslut@reddit
Well now I want hash browns...
BigMike21088@reddit
drdonutsrevenge@reddit
No, but you cooked those sausages perfectly A++
anxiousoracles@reddit
IslandGurl04@reddit
Basically the same flavor profile as a McGriddle which I love.
Spirited-Land4420@reddit
Those hash browns are a game changer in the air fryer. Aldi sells a slave of them for 3.99. So worth it!
DjPandaFingers@reddit
Yummm
Hoovooloo42@reddit
No, but I'm gonna!
KyleCXVII@reddit
You just blew my fuckin mind
Sophisticated-Crow@reddit
Jelly? Hard pass.
Maybe some melted cheese instead. With extra seasoning on top.
Past-North-4131@reddit
Sounds good to me
No_Contribution1747@reddit
Nope.
rymyle@reddit
Would be good with syrup instead of jelly
GodZillaBlazinDong99@reddit
I’d mix the jelly with ketchup, garlic powder and onion powder with a touch of vinegar
zeejay772@reddit
Oh, im so trying this thank you
Puzzled_Professor422@reddit
AHHHH I NEED IT BUT IM OUT OF JELLY AND SAUSAGE PATTIES
I JUST ATE 10 CEREAL BOWL MY TUMMY HURTS
H00LIGVN@reddit
Oh my god please add some chèvre alongside the jelly. OP TRUST ME.
faatbuddha@reddit
Now we're talking...
PawnWithoutPurpose@reddit
If ketchup then yes I would. Not with jelly
faatbuddha@reddit
Ketchup is practically jelly
ThrowAwayMeLife1@reddit
Wouldn't call this shitty. I'd call this, moderately okay.
gtarpey89@reddit
Nah it definitely fits the bill of shittyfoodporn IMO. Shitty doesn’t mean that it tastes bad, just that it looks fucking unhinged first and foremost
faatbuddha@reddit
And sausage patties on hash browns is... Fucking unhinged? Lol the people in this sub sometimes
gtarpey89@reddit
It’s got strawberry jam in the middle for fucks sake
faatbuddha@reddit
And for some reason that's the craaaaaziest thing anyone's ever heard of! As if sweet sauces aren't used in savory dishes every day.
faatbuddha@reddit
Agree, and for that reason, I'm afraid we must downvote.
Jumped-Up_Vulgarian@reddit (OP)
Nooooooo….
OutrageousBox9699@reddit
Hear me out. Hashbrowns, spread nacho cheese (preferably from Taco Bell) and garnish with bacon bits 🤤
Jumped-Up_Vulgarian@reddit (OP)
I’d try that.
OutrageousBox9699@reddit
If you really wanna drive it all the way home, add a second hash brown on top and make it a sandwich.
Jumped-Up_Vulgarian@reddit (OP)
I have absolutely done that too!
TeacatWrites@reddit
You must be every diner's favorite diner.
fgbfjb@reddit
i put syrup on both for the sweet.
QueezyF@reddit
Syrup on sausage or bacon is a game changer.
FixGreedy@reddit
I can't eat breakfast sausage with out grape jelly.
bombskis63@reddit
Grape jelly is superior!
bombskis63@reddit
Give me 2 mini syrup infused pancakes and I might need a moment alone with that sandwich 🤤
CinemaDork@reddit
I'll do this with something savory, but I am just not a fan of jelly and meat most of the time. Or syrup and meat, honestly.
Steiney1@reddit
Xfuck1tX@reddit
peachesbutno_creme@reddit
l like green hot sauce on hash brown and sausage together
but for just a sausage sandwich I add grape jelly and red pepper flakes , so good 😋
Jwchibi@reddit
I have a new thing to try ty
Butt_Smurfing_Fucks@reddit
No. But I’m gonna!
Jazzlike-Skin-5470@reddit
I do this when there’s biscuits involved
Beneficial_Stay_6025@reddit
It doesn't sound too bad.
bunglebee7@reddit
Yeah without the ketchup I’m all about that
Unit_79@reddit
Have I got news for you.
AwkwardRainbow@reddit
You're onto something hold up
thatlukeguy@reddit
That looks awesome
bunk3rk1ng@reddit
I get the McMuffin meal and put the has brown in the sandwich.
HistoricalMoose6363@reddit
Maybe if it was ketchup instead of jam
No_Interaction_4925@reddit
Swap the jelly for an egg
babypho3nix@reddit
Ooh, I'm glad it's jelly!
I used to carpool to work with a friend and we'd stop by McDonald's occasionally and she's get a McMuffin and ask for a strawberry jelly packet that she'd add to the sandwich. Always sounded delicious to me but I had my own preferred order...
Woodwhat74@reddit
That looks incredible
Queen_Of_Left_Turns@reddit
No, but I bet that would be fire at a tailgate or bonfire etc
ThatGuyFrom720@reddit
Yeah I’d rock the shit out of this if it was ketchup in the middle or some other kinda sauce.
Zehdarian@reddit
No but I will now! Looks like fire 🔥
Fun_Environment3792@reddit
Also, that plate is gorgeous and I want the whole set.
Jumped-Up_Vulgarian@reddit (OP)
Sadly we only have the dinner plates.
CaptainSparklebottom@reddit
I eat this myself from time to time. Put an English muffin and peanut butter in the mix
RawChickenButt@reddit
What's the minimum effort required to call something a dish for $500 Alex.
Jumped-Up_Vulgarian@reddit (OP)
Ha!
Fun_Environment3792@reddit
Only when no one's looking.
OutrageousBox9699@reddit
So hear me out. I was pregnant when I thought of this. Taco Bell sells hashbrowns in the morning, order one with a cup of nacho cheese. Smear said nacho cheese all over the hash brown like your buttering toast (be generous 8 use almost the entire cup 😂) ask for a cup of bacon bits (some are nice and will give it to you for free if ur pregnant) and sprinkle it on top of the cheese! Chefs kiss
unclefisty@reddit
Same overall concept as the mcgriddle.
Triggered-cupcake@reddit
Nope, pancake syrup on mine!
Jumped-Up_Vulgarian@reddit (OP)
Also an excellent option.
CRK_76@reddit
I've done this without the jelly and it's so good
camoure@reddit
I do this but swap out the sausage for an egg. Hashbrown patty, strawberry jelly, and an over-easy fried egg
veglove@reddit
I'd either use ketchup or maple syrup instead of jelly, but I love sweet/savory/crunchy combos for breakfast.
yallmight2020@reddit
No but I should
ArtJunkie628@reddit
Oh I am definitely gonna try this now
Pxnkasfxck@reddit
I haven't had this exact combo, but I've had sausage patties with jelly on toast and it was delicious.
Excellent_Spite_7422@reddit
Put that in a biscuit and have a biscuit sandwich
IrisSmartAss@reddit
I would not care for the ton of salt and sugar.
iraqlobsta@reddit
I think id sub the jelly for some picante or ketchup, but it looks good
WanderingGenesis@reddit
Honestly this looks good af. Imma try this tomorrow
freakmeout123@reddit
wait whattt???
Sure-String-122@reddit
NO CHEESE!?
Jumped-Up_Vulgarian@reddit (OP)
Gotta draw the line somewhere.
melonbone@reddit
um no but i’m very interested
HumbleAbbreviations@reddit
I did it once when I was in grade school. Not my thing but grew up with kids who loved this combo.
ContingentMax@reddit
I was more interested when I thought it was ketchup, but still intruiging.
Zephyr93@reddit
Reminds me of grade school where people would combine biscuits, sausage, and jelly.
Marchingbandhero@reddit
In college, I used to put those on a piece of Texas toast each and have 2 for breakfast.
Jumped-Up_Vulgarian@reddit (OP)
Hell yeah.
Atosl@reddit
fat, carbs, carbs and fat.
Sounds delicious
Bulky-Bath740@reddit
Probably delicious but worse for a human than cigarettes
