The Great Replacement fear gets referred to in the Great Gatsby, yet white US culture is still there...and Celtic cultures are still with us despite the Anglo Saxons arriving.
How is he incorrect? Try to use some data. Birth rates for UK on average are 1.6 per woman. Muslims its 3.0, with no sign of it reducing. That alone is all you need. Culture will change drastically, there is no assimilating islam. Islam will not become 'secularly christain', in values, it's a pipe dream.
Immigration isn't slowing down, and actually it won't take that long, about 1 or 2 generations untill the 30% tipping point is reached. Besides, why does time matter to you? It happening at all is undesirable no matter what the timeframe. Our European ancestors fought tooth and nail for 1000 years to ensure that did not happen. And within a few generations we forgot what we stood for, what made us great, and welcomed in a religion which has never proved itself to become a society capable of producing a first world economy, nor any of the values the west uphold to enable that.
But even if Muslim women have 3 kids it doesn’t mean every single one of them will be a hardline Muslim that refuses to integrate. My mother is a practising Muslim woman, she has 3 sons including myself.
I’m just a cultural Muslim - I believe in a higher power however I don’t practice the religion - I have a Latvian Christian gf who has one Latvian son - so it ends there.
My middle brother is an atheist - he has an English atheist partner and their kids will be fully integrated into a western lifestyle.
My youngest brother is a practising Muslim to some extent - however his time is more devoted to following football, music and is married to a secular Turkish girl.
Your maths and logic is one dimensional however racism is usually one dimensional.
You and your family are not typical of Islamic families. I worked in a school with a high population of Muslims from Pakistan and Somalia (and other places). Their experience is not as secular as yours judging by the many hijabs on show, the separation of males and female during their prayers in the sports hall and the halal food on offer in the school canteen.
School is school, school children often follow family traditions and values however once we are adults - we make our minds up.
Any past immigration trends shows my version of events and not what the fearful / hateful / narrow minded people view. It’s funny how the very people they are scared of are often far more open minded as adults.
Again you're using your experience to assume that is everyone's experience. It isn't.
And you're trying to silence me by inferring I am "fearful / hateful / narrow minded". Calling people names when they trying to have a conversation is pretty pathetic.
Apologies didn’t intend to call you fearful / hateful / narrow minded but rather than the view that some people in this country have that they are being ‘invaded’ or ‘overtaken’ . My point is that that generally doesn’t happen and integration is far more common and it tends to happen when people become adults and they can make their own decisions on how they want to live their lives instead of being influenced by their parents or the school that they go to.
But even if we go back to your point about separation during sports - this happens anyway everywhere from a school level to professional level. Serving a range of dietary requirements happens everywhere from a school canteen to an aeroplane. Religious attire can be debated in school / professional place as has been in many countries around the world however I sure as well wouldn’t want my girlfriend to stop wearing her cross when she was attending university or at work or my Sikh friend not allowed to wear his turban. Lastly prayer is personal to an individual and it can be separated based on the religion they follow but it shouldn’t eat into the learning the national curriculum and if it does that should be challenged.
I think what most people mean when they say "integration" is things like eating what the majority eats, so NOT eating halal (or kosher). It would also be to NOT wear religious attire as that is not the norm in the UK. Of course these suggestions will be considered too outlandish and not likely to happen.
But let's take something simple like wearing a Christmas jumper for charity on Christmas Jumper Day, which my Muslim friend on staff at the school told me he couldn't do. Now why not?
I was wearing a jumper with a robin on, it's not a religious symbol, it was just a winter scene. But he flat out refused to wear any kind of Christmas jumper at all. It wouldn't have hurt him in the slightest to wear a jumper with a robin or a snowman or something similar.
He later admitted to me that it was because of the other Muslims on staff and the hassle he would receive from them for "joining in" with Christmas.
I have many stories I could tell similar to this. This is why when you say adults integrate more than children, I just haven't seen that.
BTW I never mentioned separating males and female during sport - I said separation when they prayed in the sports hall.
He's correct. If more people from "other places" come here and reproduce then there will be more of them and their culture will spread.
If the people originally from here don't reproduce as much, then eventually their culture will disappear.
How is this not obvious to you?
Can you explain how your logic works when you say it will not happen?
People from other places have been coming here for thousands of years. English (or whatever the name of the country was at that time) culture has always remained but it has also changed in that time. It's impossible for English culture to disappear
You can't bring up old times in comparison to today, during the 200 to 250 years of Viking invasions, only about 20k to 50k settled. Over 2 whole centuries. That's it.
In comparison, roughly 300k to 500k people settle in the UK, EVERY, year. That 1 year saw more than the 250 years of Viking invasions and control.
Even in 1945, the UK population was 99% white. Mass migration is a new trend over the last 70 years, we've never ever had it like this in the entirety of our country. Our birth rates are far lower as well, it's simple maths. If I have 1% interest rate on my bank, and you have 10% interest rate on yours, who's going to get more money eventually?
Eventually, the ethnic English will grow smaller, and smaller, and smaller. That's it. There's nothing else to it.
Sure but the overall population of the country was much smaller at that time, I wonder what it would be in terms of population. The question isn't about ethnic English it's about culture, and what I'm saying is that culture is not a constant and it cannot be killed
That's factually incorrect. It will be killed off if the native/ethnic English slowly die off... It's inevitable with the way the population changes continue. If there's no ethnic English people left then the culture is gone. It'll be absorbed or replaced.
Cathage, destroyed by Rome, population gone, culture gone, language gone. Gauls, got Romanised. Maya, collapsed. Aztecs, wiped. Sumerians, non existent. Etruscans, completely gone. Norse Greenlanders culture, nada. Guanches, fully replaced. Beothuk, extinct. Prussians, no more. All of their cultures gone, traditions, gone, language, gone. It's all gone.
Cultures, languages and traditions get wiped all the time. No one is an exception.
Of course it wasn’t, but if you don’t understand when England became England, why it became it England and the cultural reasons that led to the unification of separate kingdoms, your opinion on English culture is so uninformed it is irrelevant.
Which you indicate is true by not understanding what was here before England
Okay, I worded it poorly. What my intention was was to preempt the comments of "well England didn't exist" when the basis of my comment is that the collective of humans which inhabits this island has been changeable for the entire time and consequently the culture has also changed.
That still indicates a level of ignorance. English culture was formed by changeable elements, invasions and migration. However, English culture certainly exists as much as any other culture
OPs question was "will English culture ever end" which is what I was answering. There's nothing particularly special about people from the middle east that gives them culture ending powers.
You’re deliberately confusing the Great Replacement Theory, which indicates some power is deliberately replacing native populations and the idea that those whom reproduce more will end up the majority.
They are two different things, they may share some overlap, but the thought behind them is wildly different
Amazing that you can tell intent from a written comment. Have you considered using that power for good?
Fortunately, the debunking is the same, regardless of well there's a malevolent intent or not, as either iteration of the conspiracy is based on very poor understanding of demographics. The links in the wikipedia article are a good place to start.
I never mentioned a replacement theory. You have just put words into my mouth.
But it's basic maths - one population will overtake the other. How can they not? If one family has 6 kids and the other has 2, then there will be more of the former and less of the latter.
I can see with my own eyes what's happening, while you would prefer to read a website.
I notice you can't explain these ideas of yours, so not really sure why I am the ignorant one.
It’s amazing that you understood the intent, to link it to the conspiracy theory. The other comment had nothing about the deliberate replacement of native populations, yet, you somehow understood that is what they meant
Not going to read the sources, huh? Why bother addressing the factual bits when you can ignore them and talk about someone's intent instead? After all, that's not something that can be proved.
How is their comment linked to the Great Replacement conspiracy theory?
Your own source states:
Camus's theory states that, with the complicity or cooperation of "replacist" elites,[a][7][10] the ethnic French and white European populations are deliberately being replaced by non-white peoples
Nothing in their comment indicates that the elites are deliberately replacing white people.
It is okay to admit you misunderstood their comment
I'm repeating myself. The debunking of the theory is the same regardless of whether there is intent or not. Wikipedia has some links, perhaps start by reading them?
I've pointed you to data that explains why they are wrong, you're refusing to read it. You're continued ignorance is only your fault, and continuing this is a waste of my time
You must be being deliberately obtuse. I am pointing at why your response makes 0 sense because you ascribed the Great Replacement Theory to a comment that had nothing to do with it.
It's always evolved and absorbed outside influences into mainstream culture. That's how we have an English language rather than speaking Celtic or Latin, not to mention tea, fish and chips, chicken tikka masala flavour crisps, pork butchers, roast potatoes, tomatoes in our gardens, and turkey for Christmas dinner.
What is English culture? Technically we haven't had that since the Picts got overthrown by the Romans. Then we were Italian. Then the Vikings and then the Anglo saxons came over. So then we became Scandinavian and French.
I don't know what English culture is- we've pretty much always been a smorgasbord
You're a proper helmet. You're confusing influence with replacement.
The ethnic English and English culture has been around for 1,400 years. Rome, the Anglo Saxons, Vikings, Normans all influenced but none of them replaced the population or erased cultural continuity.
