I never once brought my own lunch. I always ate school lunch. For my full school career. Unless I ate lunch off campus, I ate school lunch.

I liked school lunch. It wasn't perfect, but it was food. I just had to scrounge money because my parents never bought me lunch tickets. I had to beg borrow and steal for lunch every day.

I had a metalJulia box (sixties TVshow where Diahan Carroll played a nurse), a metal Osmonds box and an orange textured plastic box. None of them ever made it to schook--my grade school is only four blocks from the house and I took my lunch in a paper bag in junior and senior high.

I had a brown paper bag. I still have nightmares about it.

The only one I remember,from the 70s, was an NFL lunchbox. I was and still am a huge Vikings fan. Had the jacket,the hat ( with pom pom) and gloves.

No thermos anymore though because apparently no amount of vinegar or cleaning solution could completely disinfect whatever was growing in the nooks and crannies of that flip top.

I ended up with this one when it was the only choice left between it and the Eddy Shack one at our local Woolco.

I only remember the last one. I wanted a Star Wars or Battlestar Galactica. I got Pigs in Space.

I loudly disliked the Muppets (not Sesame Street, just The Muppet Show). My sister loved them. We couldn’t trade because she also got a Muppet lunch box (mom never admitted this, but I’m convinced there was a two-for-one deal) and I didn’t want it.

I tried to paint it but because I was a stupid kid, I just found some paint in the garage and did it. That paint never really dried for some reason and it stunk.

None, we'd be lucky if there groceries to make daily lunches with besides peanut butter and jelly. We gre up on TV dinners and food that had to be made or cooked like mac n cheese, pancakes, soup, etc.

Mom went to get the hot lunch meal cards for us now and then. She didnt trust us to get them.

George Lucas hadn’t invented Midichlorians yet.

I hated that whole concept. Obi-Wan and Yoda explained how the Force works, it didn’t need to be retconned.

I got a new lunchbox every year. The ones I remember are Peanuts, Clash of the Titans, Empire Strikes Back and Pac-Man. My dad had a bunch of adhesive labels from work, every day he would leave a note for me on the inside of the lid.
