I love Max Miller. His videos suck me in, as a lover of food and history I find them fascinating. “Hard tack” 🍪🍪

TheShakyHandsMan@reddit
The Whistlerverse is always a go to of good varied content. Lost track of how many channels he has.
Pyjama365@reddit
Except the habit of saying a name, and then following it up with a pronoun to refer to the same person, e.g. "and you see, Henry, he worked hard, but he didn't make a huge amount of money. And this became an issue because Sarah, she had ideas above their station..."
Very much enjoy the content, but since I noticed this, it irked me so much I can only watch one video a month or so, and a few podcast episodes on download per holiday. I have no idea why.

Ashens - reviews of tat, cheap/out of date food, gaming stuff.
Nerd³ - gameplay, game reviews, can make any boring game look really fun.
Hell On Earth: three guys (sometimes two) doing top gear like stuff, weird camping, urbex.
Techmoan: an older guy reviewing tech. Better than it sounds.
Tom Scott: interesting things you didn't know you wanted to know.

Big Old Boats - life histories of individual ships.
Esoteric- hermeticism, gnosticism, alchemy. Scholarly.

Li Ziqi and Danxi Xiaoge for escapism; beautiful views, calming music, traditional and new Chinese foods and crafts. It's very inspiring and subtly educational.
Chinese Cooking Demystified: fascinating videos mixing food history and recipes.
Tom Scott
Micarah Towers: unhinged costume making videos.
Erin Parsons: history of makeup, even if you don't like makeup much the visuals and history of it and anecdotes are FUN!
The Victorian Way, by English Heritage

Ghost Town Living - A guy moved up into an abandoned mining town in the mountains of California, which he bought 6 years ago. He has loads of videos exploring the old mines and rebuilding the town. This one town is basically the reason the West coast (LA/San Francisco) is so prosperous.
B1M - engineering projects, well thought out and presented in an engaging way that non engineers can understand.
AntsCanada - a guy has been building ever larger interconnected vivariums in his house. It’s really cool and his passion oozes through the videos.
Skote Outdoors - A couple are living on a fairly remote island off Canada’s East Coast and renovating one of the 100+ year old houses. Very cool videos documenting their lives and the various projects they’re undertaking. The lady is just about to have a baby too.
Pathalerix - (Goldbound Series) A self-imposed challenge in WoW, where he can only make gold from one zone and can only open a new zone once he purchases a WoW token using the gold he’s made.
Pretty different but I always find myself coming back to these.

Gotta say I have been into mowing and clean up videos of overgrown gardens recently. No idea why as I hate mowing my lawn but there is something cathartic about them. I mainly watch flawless cleaning (London based) SB mowing (USA) M&D lawn care and MJD pressure washing (same family in Texas) the boring Chanel (Florida) and a few Asian ones that pop up. Also if you can stomach drain cleaning there is an awesome Aussie guy who is like the Steve Irwin of drain cleaning - drain cleaning Australia. The vids are anywhere from 20 mins to an hour+ and they all have loads of content way more than a months worth. They certainly pass the time.

How to Cook That. It started out as a baking channel, but turned into food investigative journalism and debunking done by a food scientist and her journalist husband.
Stewart Millard. He reviews British TV from the 80s and 90s with a very dry sense of humour.
Steve Marsh. He does travel videos with his partner. They've just done a round the world cruise on the QM2. Just laid back wandering round places I'll never go. I enjoyed their Matterhorn climb.
Today I learned Science. I love the way she interviews people. She lets an enthusiast specialist tell their story. The one about Amelia Airheart is fascinating.
Stewart Hicks, Phil Edwards and Not Just Bikes do interesting videos about design, infrastructure and architecture.
Jago Hazard. Mostly London focussed. Architecture and transport history.
Scotland History Tours. Does what it says on the tin.

jaxdia@reddit
I did go off him for a bit when he hired some people who used to work on Bake Off to do his camerawork and it started to look like some shit Jamie Oliver show. Recently resubbed as he seems to have gone back to the old ways.
We've been watching him since the dawn of time (his frosted tips era), so perhaps it's just because he seems like one of the family now.
Ann Reardon (How to Cook That) is another good one, but she's Australian, not British (considering the sub we're in).

I'm constantly impressed by his choice of dramatic moments to represent, and his ability to recreate them.
Adventurous_Week_698@reddit
I loved his method for capturing the expressions of the women the moment before the goose hit him. He got some women to watch footage of a roller coaster ride which suddenly flashed up screenshots of their bank statements (which he hired a PI to obtain) in order to capture the "perfect combination of joy and concern" 😆

Good Mythical Morning - just celebrated their 3,000th episode. It's a (week) daily show hosted by Rhett and Link and they do funny challenges and eat lots of food (sometimes icky food). Best episodes are "Where in the World". There are a variety of spin off shows too - including Mythical Kitchen - which is hosted by funny chefs. It's a very easy watch.

What device will you be watching on? Phone, tablet, laptop, television? There are other apps for content besides YouTube out there that might offer up a way to pass the time. Twitch, Plex, Pluto, Fawesome, Filmrise, BBC iPlayer, Channel 5, etc, etc, etc...etc, etc, etc. There's more than you could possibly watch in a month or two out there.

Flick Connection is a film recommendation channel that is useful if you want to use YouTube to make a list films to watch on other streaming services.
It is based on US licensing so you have to mentally add "in the USA" to the titles, e.g, "Hidden gems on Netflix" is really "Hidden gems on Netflix USA that might be also be available on a UK streaming service". I usually watch it with JustWatch open and will look up anything that interests me on JustWatch to see if it is available in the UK. He also puts up a card at the end with UK availability which is mostly accurate. But I check myself anyway.
Quite a lot of his recommendations are not available in the UK, or not on a service I subscribe to. But I have discovered a lot of films that are accessible to me that I would probably have missed otherwise.

Papa Meat/Meat canyon. He has a variety of videos. He has his main channel that is just videos of them chatting about certain subjects but they are always so funny. And then he has his animated channel that is Meat Canyon where you can watch his animated videos again on various things from other YouTubers to celebs etc. Creepy but funny too.
And then he has another channel called Meaty Magic where he and his buddies play magic the gathering and get wasted. Also pretty good if you're into that.
Highly recommend. He's one of the only YouTubers I've enjoyed seeing go from nothing to now so much. His studio is amazing now and he clearly looks after the staff he hires to edit videos etc. because they put a lot of effort into making the videos even funnier.
