I currently have a Ryzen 5 8600g and a MSI mag ab650n PSU, what's the best GPU I can buy without the risk of burning my house down?

Probably a 9070 non xt
sunkenwhalebones@reddit
9070 XT should work. 9070 or 5070 are the save bet.

9070xt/5070ti should work just fine, even better if undervolted
TheOriginalKrampus@reddit
9070 uses noticeable less power than a 9070 XT. Also a good choice considering power limitations.

I mean yeah that would probably be the better choice but guy asked about the best GPU he can get, not the best price in performance, a 650w is capable of running a 9070xt just fine (assuming is a 280-300W one and not a red devil) with that cpu, undervolting is also an option and lower the power draw even more
X-Kami_Dono-X@reddit
A 9060 XT at best. You would you need at least 800 for a 9070 XT.

I'm on a 750w with 9070xt and 5800x3d, none of the two undervolted, a 650w will be fine

9070 non XT usually slots in pretty nice here

Im on a 650w psu with a oc'd 5070ti and 9800x3d

I’m running a higher draw CPU (5800X) and a high power limit 9070 XT (Red Devil, 330W board power) on 750W and it’s fine.
650W would be fine with an 8600G assuming it has enough 8 pin connections.

5070/9070
If PSU is good quality, maybe the ti/xt versions.. but best 750+ for them
Accomplished_Trade23@reddit
first throw to garbage 8600g and buy 7500f or better , for gpu buy 9070 best price/perf.

For a 650W PSU:
RX 9060XT
RTX 4060/5060/ti
ARC B580
Anything much else than this is going to be more thirsty than your PSU can handle.
WantedKi1ler@reddit
couldnt help you other than suggesting you just spend the money for a higher W PSU. I would say 850 or higher. then you'll never have to make a post like this again
dertechie@reddit
Why? They already have the 650W. Why spend $100 when they can already run most options with just a bit of research?
I understand suggesting upsizing on new builds but when it’s installed already there is value in seeing what fits in the headroom you have. With a low TDP CPU they can run basically anything.
Monotask_Servitor@reddit
The 8600G will use around 85W max, throw another 50W on there to account for memory, drives, coolers and peripherals and you’re at 135W. That gives you plenty of room to play with for a GPU, anything in the 5070 or 9700 class should be fine.

Voodoo 1 3dFX

I run a 5700x and 9070 XT on a 650 w PSU. Before, I had a 3080.

used RTX 3080
