Petro of Bordentown, NJ

Hi everyone,
Hoping maybe someone can answer this. Dad is a retired trucker, now in his 80's. Retired from OTR and went local around 2015. When OTR, he was based out of Burlington, NJ, and he frequented the Petro in Bordentown, along with the Iron Skillet on his way in or out. Growing up, I was on the road with him every summer and school break (miss those giant cookiew they used to give the kids, along with the bread pudding squares from way back in the day). He's been mentioning me picking him up and taking him for a little trip to the Bordentown Petro to have lunch or dinner, like old times. Is the Iron Skillet still there, or has the Petro become more of a travel center with fast food? I'd love to do this, but also don't want him to be disappointed it's changed that much. Thanks in advance.

It's definitely still there, I had shrimp and steak alfredo there for Easter weekend. Personally I'd tell you the food at the actual fuel desk building by the pumps is better than the restaurant but neither is bad. They don't have an ice cream parlor in there anymore though.
I stay at the bordentown petro often. It's a pretty nice truckstop. If you go there in a semi just know you'll be paying 25$ to park there for the day if you're there longer than 2 hours or you can get your slip validated if you spend 30$ in the store.

It's still there. I go there whenever I'm in the area.

I haven't been there in ages, but Iron Skillet has closed in many of their locations. To be certain, you can call them

the iron skillet is long gone unfortunately - most petros ditched them years ago and went with fast food chains instead.
