I have found I can work with a higher optic on something very cramped, like a sub gun, but on actual rifles, lower 1/3 height, right in that 1.6-1.7 range is really as high as I want to go. Good stock contact helps with control

In this case it’s just that Greece has a big stock of old M4s which have a fixed carry handle. They are often modified with different hand guards stocks and optics but they can’t really get rid of the fixed carry handle and FSB. Some units have meanwhile received newer flat top M4s from DD.
