Those Indian math guys on YT were actually fucking goated though. Like why can't my teacher who has hours to teach it to me explain it in a way that I can understand, yet this dude does it in 10 minutes it suddenly it makes sense
IT student here. Most of my lecturers are kind of incompetent.
Random Indian guy with an old board from the 50s and a grindset from the time they had to fight off the British helped me more to graduate with whatever he's streaming from the washing room than what my overpaid lecturers prepared in their 15 years of service.
as somebody who studies education I can explain. A lot of teachsrs do suck in explaining yes, let me point that out already. The issue with many teachers is that they do not take the slower or ""dumber"" students into consideration. If you are behind, you are behind, womp womp and fail the class. There is a certain standard that they assume students can follow so that they can already get into more complex tasks very easily. The thing about the math guys on youtube is that they dumb it down to the most basic way they can explain it ever, so simple that anybody could grasp it. I worked with kids with bad grades before, and once you get the hang of it, you know how to dumb it down. Once you get to know the basics, your gears slowly shift and actually adapt and every "bad" explanation your teacher made is slowly making sense. The YT tutorials alone arent helping, it is sort of you finally catching up to the unintelligible bs your teachers were talking about. I cant discredit them completely, because your brain isnt that dumb, the slight grasp of knowledge you took from class is also doing some heavy lifting, yt tutorials alone cant make you suddenly an expert at a topic, its sort of a short term knowledge situation.
My teacher was explaining derivatives for like 20 minutes trying to help one kid understand. I said that on the derivative graph the y axis is the slope of the function at point x and suddenly it clicked for him
I think some teachers are just terrible at explaining things
Khan academy was actually redesigned to help people who dropped out of highschool to get them to finish thier GED, Anon just skipped the dropping out part
This is how i learned to code. My professor was super smart but I couldn't learn from him for some reason. After every lecture, I'd hop on YT to find someone explaining the subject in a way I could learn it.
Yo, I was a shitty student all the way from k through 12. I went back to college after highschool and basically went to the lecture, then I'd get stoned and watch YouTube videos on the material, and then I got great grades.

Cheating is lame, studying is lame.
The only cool way to pass an exam is to sneakily ask the professor/teacher if you can suck his cock for a passing grade.
It’s how I got through middle school.

you are the king of fake and gay, i see you everywhere on this sub, i instinctually know it's you when i read stuff like that

This sounds no different, than looking at previous exams and using that to prepare for the current exam.

For real, I'm studying IT now, and a very big part of everything I know at some point was taught to me by an Indian.
They are truly in the second golden age

Just so you know, the GeeksforGeeks website is made by indians. The whole world is learning from them at this point

If you go to a tech tutorial video on YouTube and see an Indian guy with techno in the background, you know it's gonna be helpful

There's a certain point in your schooling where teachers stop teaching you and just start telling you what you need to go home and study

For me that was early middle school. Wasn't great, tbh.

Learning is difficult though. What's really shocking is finding people who seem to actively refuse learning.
