Is the 5070ti worth the 999 price tag

I have the 9060xt right now and I have a 1000 extra to get the 5070ti but is it worth the 1000 price tag.
Sufficient-Echo-4128@reddit
I just picked it up at 1099. Is it worth it? It really depends on what games you play. Also if you want to pay the premium for DLSS, better ray tracing and future support as FSR4 isn’t officially supported on previous gen AMD cards and it’s looking like FSR5 will be next gen exclusivly. Just rumors though but alteast with DLSS you can manually override it on older cards. So there’s that.
jetstrea87@reddit
I paid $1,100 for my 5070ti
OptimusMatrix@reddit
Same. I went with the Gigabyte 5070TI Gaming OC.
dabbers4123@reddit
No i had a 5070ti I got for 820 which I returned for a 9070xt at 580 right before christmas. They perform nearly identical maybe a 5 percent difference.
chinosminos@reddit
Why not wait for a sale for a 5070ti? I heard it's dlss is miles better than the 9070xt's FSR
dabbers4123@reddit
That was on sale for the 5070ti cause msrp pricing for it didnt exist unless you set a bot up to camp best buy drops so i went with a microcenter sale. Plus on my 4k monitor there's a barely a noticeable difference between dlss and fsr most the time im noticing it's really game to game dependent on which looks better cause both have their strengths and weaknesses in upscaling certain things.
Jesuisunetchoin@reddit
It was the same dilemma as 7900gre/4070s or 4070ti super/7900XT, at the time of their release, AMD was the best choice, but two years later AMD screwed their 7XXX customers with FSR 3, so you gotta take that in consideration because they will be doing the same with FSR 4
f1rstx@reddit
It wasn’t dilemma, every 4000 card was better than AMD same tier at the time. Especially when Supers came out and DLSS 3.5. Even 4070TIS was superior than 7900XTX. Only people kept repeating “muh vram, muh raster” were not thinking about big picture. And now it’s especially obvious how better 4000 cards aged while 7000 became ewaste.
dabbers4123@reddit
The removal of physx for legacy titles was a sticking point for me too. I play a ton of old games and nvidias driver issues were so bad at release it made nividia look like old amd, while amds ive yet to have a game crash. Id been a nvidia user since the 980 but more of there extras I didnt use and fsr 4 and dlss is pretty damn close at this point.
FigglebottomCat@reddit
9070xt for the win
Scsarules2024@reddit (OP)
true.
FigglebottomCat@reddit
it’s my fave card, i regretted not buying a 5080 until i saw how beastly this thing is for £600. i get 3400 clock speeds and it even surpasses the 5080 in some tests i’ve done!! the software is good too, very clean.
ADo_9000@reddit
In my opinion the 5080 wasn't worth the 999$ MSRP price when it launched, so no, a worse card at the same price would not be worth it.
If you think you need the extra performance I would get the absolutely cheapest 9070xt there is.
Or potentially a used 4070 TI Super, if it's available for the same or less than the 9070xt.
ywgflyer@reddit
Man. Seeing American prices still makes me sad even these days. 5080s are almost 2000 bucks here in Canada, plus 13% sales tax on top of that.
camdalfthegreat@reddit
It's the same prices in the US.
a 5080 is going to set you back about $1400 USD at least, which is $2000 CAD
If you're in California you're probably paying a comparable sales tax lol.
pureformality@reddit
Cheapest 5080 is 1400 euros in my country which is exactly 2000 CAD so atleast the prices are equally and consistently high 😭
ywgflyer@reddit
Yeah, you guys are getting killed on prices even worse than we are. And then there is VAT on top of that, no?
pureformality@reddit
1400 eur tax included
skippitydoodah123@reddit
I was waiting on an acer refurbished with a 4070 tis but never came back in stock. Got a similar one with a 5070 instead.
StJe1637@reddit
Idk how much is the color green worth to you?
korg64@reddit
Depends on your wants and standards. I returned a 9070xt after a week and bought a 5070ti.
_doodah_@reddit
That's extortionate. I got mine for 650 euros.
Nice_Knee_1538@reddit
Put that 9060 XT up for sale get that RTX 5070 TI before someone else does treat yourself.
Akkun351@reddit
Treat himself to what? A scam? 1k for a xx70 series should not be considered even as joke
Nice_Knee_1538@reddit
Found another GPU.
Scsarules2024@reddit (OP)
I found for 709 newegg a 9070xt I think I will get that and save the 300. Thanks for all your guys help.
VoraciousGorak@reddit
I have a 9070 XT and a 5070 Ti, for which I paid $699 and $749 respectively. They're both great GPUs but even at those prices it was a bit tough to pull the trigger. It's absolutely not worth paying $1000 for either GPU.
metamorfozaa@reddit
In my country a 9070xt is like 300 euro cheaper then 5070ti, so definitely worth it xD
dorting@reddit
No
Septiqflesh@reddit
This is going to get down voted but it is what it is. If you want stable drivers and for everything to just work properly, then yes in the current market it's worth 1k.
I just returned my 9070 XT and dropped 1100 on a 5070 Ti because the 9700 XT just had so many random issues in basically every game that I played.
For reference I prefer AMD and loved my 7900 XTX and had zero issues with that card.
I wish I could say this is anecdotal, but it's overwhelmingly not. Do yourself a favor and look through relevant subreddits for people having issues with the card before deciding on a purchase.
Akkun351@reddit
Seeing that there are peoples saying yes to a 5070ti that cost 1k remember to me that fanboys do as much damage as the AI when it comes to the price components have.
drabgail@reddit
Jesus. Is it $1,000 now? I thought the $750 at launch was too high. No it’s not worth it if a 4080S is less, I haven’t been in the market for a while.
Blue-150@reddit
Ya 1000 is wild, 9070xt way cheaper
Powerful-Ad2869@reddit
if im not mistaken, soon after the ram prices went crazy, the prices of the 5070ti in most countries rose by about 200-300$, its crazy
ywgflyer@reddit
Happened big time in Canada. 5080s are now pushing $2000 here.
IWillAssFuckYou@reddit
It was at $1,000 before. It launched at $750, but people weren't actually paying $750 due to shortages. I paid $1000 for my Asus TUF 5070 Ti OC Edition back in July of 2025 and the GPU eventually dropped good amount below that.
bouncybullfrog@reddit
I bought my PNY 5070ti in July '25 for $750. Most models were selling for slightly more than that but definitely not $1K
PogTuber@reddit
It went down to MSRP around November which is when I bought it
Orallover1960@reddit
I bought a prebuilt with a 9800 x3d and a 9070 xt. I am killing it in 1440p gaming. And I only paid $1799.99 for the whole thing. Even the cheapest 9070xt is a great value there is very little performance difference between the cheapest 9070xt and the most expensive one.
Ozi-reddit@reddit
some can justify and others not, feature and driver wise clinches the deal for me
OhSix@reddit
I love my 5070ti, but at that price, no
Interesting-Music439@reddit
I have one. Absolutely not. $829-849 is already a huge stretch. $1000 for that card or even a 5080 is absurd. And before AMD fanbois jump in to agree, the 9070xt isn't worth the current prices either.
I've been doing this forever. Most of my life. This is the absolute worst time in the PC building hobby in my entire life.
$599 for a 2tb 990 nvme drive? $350 for 32mb memory? Having to go off-off-brand with questionable companies just to get components? $1000 5070tis?!?!?. $600 cpus? It's all fucking absurd.
I just saw a post about someone having a $2000-$2500 budget and the top rated comment was a parts picker list with absurdly mediocre components. For $2500. Upvoted, highly praised and I'm like "Have you people lost all fucking perspective?!?"
They have. Anyone rationalizing a $1000 mid-tier gpu has lost their fucking minds or live in a wealth beyond 98% of the world.

RogLatimer118@reddit
I managed to get an Asus 5070Ti for $800 in February when the price dropped briefly. Feeling pretty good about that now. I thought even that was expensive.
PogTuber@reddit
I paid MSRP in November, that was really the time to buy a GPU.
Trypt2k@reddit
Of course. Easily. I can't get it for anywhere near that, if I could I'd get it today. I paid 1300 for my 4070ti.
GrandmasLilPeeper@reddit
holy shiitakes its 1K now?
johnnyfivecinco@reddit
so glad i got the 5070ti for 670 open box early 2025
firestar268@reddit
Are they 1k now? Wow
Prior_Cry7759@reddit
Its the best value high end gaming experience out rn. Steep price but you will get what you pay for.
iTzJME@reddit
No it's definitely better in certain ways but value ain't one of them. It's pretty horrible value compared to the 9070xt.
Scsarules2024@reddit (OP)
Thank you. I am thinking about getting it or a tv both I don't need need but I want to spend it on something.
snipsuper415@reddit
Save another 300 and get a 5080
HorrorImprovement880@reddit
The 5080 is weird because the 4090 outperforms it and that card is 2-3 years old.
The problem is that the 4090 is really, really expensive.
The 9070xt is a card that performs about the same as the 5080 but is cheaper.
So all in all the 5080 doesn't justify it's existence and price tag for me.
ChocolateNeat4489@reddit
Yes, it fully worth it, just don't complain the 6070ti will cost 1500
IWillAssFuckYou@reddit
In July I paid $1000 from mine coming off a 3070 Ti. I was pretty happy with what I got. That's entirely up to you. If you have the money and are willing to pay that and don't like the 9070XT then go for it.
heroofshade420@reddit
nah get a 7900 xtx
Naerven@reddit
As long as you understand that the $700 USD RX9070XT is faster in some games I guess it could be to some people.
Tengu-Tango@reddit
No. But need drives spending— if you need what the 50 series brings to the table, I would still be hard pressed between finding a “decent priced” 5080 and spending 1k on a 5070ti.
Only justified if needed for work or to otherwise make money, in truth… Or if you have truly expendable liquid on hand that you could just as well burn: because it’s akin to that.
Beginning_Policy_242@reddit
I mean, if your gpu is enough for you, no
