For someone looking for an inexpensive AR15 I recommend buying the ACI Bravo from Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore for $400 with free shipping. It comes complete. Most would want to sooner or later replace the stock and grip but some may want to do that anyway with the PSA kits.
mrbrewery90@reddit
Second this. Got mine for like $380 and its still going strong 2+ years later. Just been slowly upgrading it into something nicer
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
Most new AR15 owners like myself back in 2022 have a lot to learn and may not even now what they really like or want long term. An inexpensive AR15 that is reliable and has good QC may be a good way to start and learn with as nothing beats getting one's hands on an AR15 to learn with. Upgrading parts of it over time getting items on sale has been fun and a good learning experience. Later I bought complete LaRue lowers for $200 and blem BCM upper and DDM4V7 upper for $535. It had not BCG, charging handle or muzzle device.
My next step will be to assembly AR15 rifles from stripped lowers and all the individual parts for the uppers. I have been slowly buying the parts and tools when on sale for the last 2 or 3 years. I have been in no hurry to get them completed as I have my other rifles. I am slowly learning which component parts most recommend and watching for sales on those parts. I was overwhelmed back in 2022 with just learning about AR15 rifles so I was not ready to assemble one at that time. The last parts I need are upper receiver, handguards, gas tubes, buffer tube end plates and castle nuts. I plan to buy BCM blem upper receivers and QD end plates. I am not sure about which handguards or gas tubes I will buy. I have a few gas blocks but will need more.

Its like grown up legos or PC building lol
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
I enjoyed Legos long before they took off with dedicated kits. I started upgrading home PC's in 1995 when I bought a Gateway PC with Intel Pentium II running at 266 MHz and later put a Celeron CPU that I bought at a local computer show in it. I over clocked it from original speed of 300 MHz to 450 MHz. I later built PCs from parts but I have not done anything with desktop PC hobby or gaming for 15 years or longer.

I'm not being facetious when I say shipping and tax makes this a bad deal
charsons@reddit
I stay away from NBS products as a whole. Pretty cheap if you’re heavily on a budget, but damn if those parts I’ve gotten aren’t noticeably worse quality than PSA. I’ve since disassembled and sold both builds but I at least found the PSA parts worth keeping. Can’t say the same for NBS
wormraper@reddit
same, I bought a couple of NBS uppers for dirth cheap and they were DISTINCTLY worse than PSA.. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to my gear and I don't love PSA, but I'd gladly take PSA over most of the other budget brands out there.
buckandroll@reddit
How are NBS lowers do you know I know they are part of the dirty Bird / black rifle depot / ar15discounts conglomerate and I was waiting for the 3 pack of dirty Bird nolo lowers to go on sale again. Should I skip their lowers?
wormraper@reddit
I think Black Rifle Depot is their own thing. NBS is the home brand of Dirty Bird/Ar15discounts...
personally I've never had any experience with their lowers so I couldn't tell you. but if they're anything like their other parts, they're below PSA IMO. but as I said, I haven't mic'd any of their lowers so I can only harzard guesses
buckandroll@reddit
Thanks. Ended up ordering my lowers from peaceforge . They have blems that are only blems due to ugly laser engravings. Between them and the bcm blem uppers some pretty good quality balue builds forming
cyclorphan@reddit
black rifle depot is owned by the same company? I know about ar15discounts and dirtybird, in fact, they are in the same building less than an hour from me. BRD is in Cali, I think.
buckandroll@reddit
I can't be certain I don't have any proof. I just noticed that the same items go on sale for them all at the exact same time, sometimes at the exact same price. So I think they are part of the same conglomerate.
HitYourLawyerAgain@reddit
Yeah I recently bought a NBS LPK that had an out of spec size safety selector, and out of spec selector spring both
Staas@reddit
I had the same issue with an Anderson lpk.
No-Math-4874@reddit
Yeah I like PSA as a company but if you find a deal then shipping kills it. And if it has “free shipping” then it’s not deal
NeverBuyingVWAgain@reddit
They couldn't get my FSP straight, even after sending it in. Couldn't even get the flash hider straight. Asked me if I had tools to work on it myself. They're garbage.
dad-jokes-about-you@reddit
It’s a pin punch and a hammer.
NeverBuyingVWAgain@reddit
For the FSP? As far as I know. I have to take off the barrel completely and put it back on straight.
Indexing pin prob destroyed, who knows. I don't really feel like buying a barrel clamp and armored wrench though. Going to be more cost efficient to just dump the upper and buy a real brand. I only play with it for FRT twice a year anyway. I'll buy a real AR15 one day.

Shipping is like $20 to Nashville
