I have a job offer as someone who hasn’t been in the field for a couple years, been doing other work.
OTR 5 days on 2 days off. $1600 gross per week salary. Gonna be full 13-14 hour days for the 5 days on.
Not many places will hire me besides mega carriers and this type of outfit.

Yea, I make that local, and I’m home every night.
If you have been out of the game awhile, it’s not too bad I guess. I would take it to get some recent experience and then be looking for something paying more.

If you don’t mind otr, the company I work for might take you. Depending on your mvr.

As a local driver, $1600 gross would be okay money if I were working 10-12 hours a day. If I were running the clock out, gross would have to be $2k+.
Of course, OTR it's mostly driving with less bullshit at shippers all day. This is from the perspective of a HCOL area (Los Angeles).

I was like you. Toke 2 years of not even swift wanted me went 3 month flatbed now doing linehaul $2500 week just start somewhere but look around right away

Easy money. I do that 5/2 now. Average about 450 miles a day. Often more. Lots of familiar stops. Consistency in pay is what’s important during this period. Make sure they have been in business a while.

Fuck that

Why?

1600 a week for 70 hour weeks is like 22 a hour. Just go deliver beer or soda

for coming back after a break that’s actually not awful money if it’s real salary and not “up to” stuff. maybe run it short term. finding anything decent now is insane
