I need recommendations for a local, quality pizza place in West Plano

Everyone knows Friday night is pizza night. What’s your favorite local, high quality pizza?
crazy2bob@reddit
Can’t believe I haven’t seen Heritage in the suggestions. It’s just right up the road. They’re really good. I always swear I’m going to try other things, but the Bees Knees reels me back in every time.
But now I have to try Texapolitan after seeing so many mentions.
I’m just glad we have a Zalat now for a Sbarro substitute.
Hopeful-Moose87@reddit
Texapolitan is pretty good. Ferrari’s is excellent.
ACasualFightFan@reddit
Agree with both. I’d add Heirloom to the group here too.
DragonflyFront9882@reddit
Heirloom pizza sucks, its always burnt.
Fearless-Donkey3829@reddit
I've literally never had burnt pizza from heirloom. Always been good.
Birdman-esq@reddit
Texapolitan all day, I’ve eaten there twice this week.
They also have a really good Ceasar salad, it’s ridiculous.
PurpleAd3185@reddit
This post alone has finally made me finally commit to checking out Texapolitan. One of the things I love at Pie Tap is their Caesar salad. That and a perfectly done Margarita pizza. Andrew’s Caesar was a sorry excuse for a salad never mind the art of a good Caesar! We sat there realizing we could spend the same $$’s on much higher quality food and a better ambience!
Birdman-esq@reddit
Their croutons are made out of focaccia bread they make in house.
My wife and I are going to start picking it up on weeknights as a side salad for our dinners.
PurpleAd3185@reddit
I just looked at their page. It appears they are only takeout. I saw a pic of their Caesar in a take out container. If you love an excellent Caesar I encourage you to give Pie Tap a try. For dining in.
Birdman-esq@reddit
They aren’t, they have seating inside. You can buy by the slice as well.
PurpleAd3185@reddit
Thank you! I am not a big fan of takeout. Occasionally I make an exception.
BlazinAzn38@reddit
Texapolitan is just really expensive, it ends up at $30+ for a single topping pizza basically
saplinglearningsucks@reddit
It's good though
westcoastlmtd@reddit
Texopolitan is the best locally but it's also the most expensive. Zoli's in Addison is also really good but a little drive. There's really only a handful of places in all of Dallas that are worthy of a rec imo.
StuckAtZer0@reddit
This is in Frisco, but perhaps not too much of a stretch... Pizzeria Testa.
Intelligent_Bid_1324@reddit
Pie Tap has amazing thin crust sourdough pizza. Prosciutto and fig is my fave. Great service and atmosphere.
Andrew's is good if you want a gooey cheesy thick crust, but service and atmosphere are definitely lacking.
arthink99@reddit
Go a little further west and try papparazi pizza in Carrollton
WallaceFred@reddit
Joe's !
Training-Marsupial21@reddit
Love them
rickybobbyscrewchief@reddit
The one at Spring Creek and Custer? Cuz I'm seeing another slightly different named one, too.
Wallace-braveheart@reddit
Yes, Joe's Pizza N Pasta. Spring Creek and Custer.
Thyoste@reddit
not poster but parker/communications is the GOAT Joe's, right by Gazeebo Burger (also GOATed)
impendingfuckery@reddit
I agree. Joe’s Pasta and Pizza is great!
Training-Marsupial21@reddit
Joes Pizza in plano!
barnwhale@reddit
Its always the same regurgitated answers from previous posts in reddit now, makes me wonder if yall are bots.
I have tried all the places in this thread (like ferraris, heirloom, andrews, etc) and they all fell way short.
Try Bacci’s. They are the only pizza that comes close to good East coast pizza in DFW.
Impossible_Suit_2922@reddit
I have not found many like the pizza I’m used to from New Haven
EfficientPear4116@reddit
Try Fortunate Son in downtown Garland-- they have New Haven style crust. Delicious.
royalooozooo@reddit
Angelo and Vito’s fits somewhere on this list, not as great as it used to be. Some other choices that are not local, Eatzis, Central market, and Whole Foods all serve slices or pies.
raines_realty@reddit
More central Plano, but Mama's!
my_muffin_sparkles@reddit
Andrew's is hands down my favorite pizza place. Especially their Dallas style with grande pepperoni and pepperoni cups
BlueberryCold7909@reddit
Hideaway
irknashley@reddit
Heirloom
mmmaltodextrose@reddit
Heirloom is SO good, and the staff is awesome. For a delicious plain cheese pizza and other non-pizza dishes we’ll always opt for Eddy’s across the street, but Heirloom for any other pizza. They also have an endearingly peculiar special that’s named after one of their regulars who unfortunately passed away. I just love any business that fosters that sense of community.
DragonflyFront9882@reddit
Heirloom sucks.
spaceorkz@reddit
My wife and I really enjoyed the pizza here. The crust is really well done
Embarrassed-Shape-40@reddit
The Author is a great pizza!
Ok-Category-8980@reddit
zio als
tokyotapes@reddit
Zalat
dukejcdc@reddit
Bread Street Boys in East Plano! Great pizza!
littlemachina@reddit
Yeah I went once over a year ago, but i think of it fondly. Need to go back
Randeezy@reddit
+1 Definitely worth the drive from west to east
crims0ntid3r@reddit
Pizza Mama's
nounthennumbers@reddit
Pie Tap, Taverna Rossa, Kenny’s
Delicious_Hand527@reddit
Kenny's is great.
Foundrynut@reddit
No love for Little Rome?
Delicious_Hand527@reddit
In a block with Eddies, Heirloom, and Little Rome, if you are choosing a meat pizza, it's Little Rome - Eddies - Heirloom.
A veggie pizza is Eddies, Heirloom, Little Rome.
Cheese only - just go to Dominoes.
Order any pasta dish or want to eat in, it's Little Rome, Eddies.
TXG466@reddit
Angelo’s and Vito’s but that’s more central/north plano
ihadtopickaname@reddit
Andrew’s American Pizza Kitchen
Taverna Rossa
iFratteli
amygym@reddit
I was thinking ifratelli too, it’s so basic but it always hits the spot!!
Taverna Rossa also fantastic. They used to have a BLT pizza about 12 years ago and I’m still sad they got rid of it!
SASman80@reddit
Was going to say Taverna Rosa is great as well!
bwarrior@reddit
The answer is always Kenny’s, no matter the cuisine
ChewyHoneyBadger@reddit
Segers is great
khrisplex@reddit
domino's is my go to
FabulousBullfrog9610@reddit
Everyone has a different version of good pizza.
We are from NY and the only place we found that meets our definition is Ferrari's. Iit's Legacy and Coit. sorry but I think he's maga
Regular_or_BQ@reddit
Ferrari is the only answer
Prize_Proof5332@reddit
Delucca Gaucho Pizza
cmnd_joe@reddit
Ferraris, Campisis
inkydeeps@reddit
You really consider Campisi’s quality pizza? I wouldn’t put those two in the same category at all.
GrossWeatherman@reddit
Saucebros, Texopolitan, and Pie Tap are all great for different reasons.
It's in Lewisville, but Mister 01 is very elite
5yrup@reddit
Taverna Rossa for sure. Live music a lot of nights too!
angelicrainboes@reddit
Heirloom NY style was good. I did not like the deep dish. I havent had deep dish in a while tho.
PurpleAd3185@reddit
Pie Tap is my favorite for west Plano. We have tried Andrew’s 3x’s always ordering something different in hopes that we were just missing something. We aren’t. Mediocre at best. Heirloom is quite good for a N.Y. style pie. Haven’t tried their Detroit style.
AmericanFoodie_in@reddit
Kind of surprised no one’s mentioned Pizza Twist yet… not traditional but their indian-style pizzas hit different (butter chicken one is kinda crazy ngl).
jkav1117@reddit
Pie tap is great.
ohmysocks@reddit
If you like Detroit style, Mr. Jim’s in the colony is my go-to
