Not Toyotas back then?
historyeeter@reddit (OP)
Nope, we used American produced till the 90s.
b16b34r@reddit
Didn’t knew you got American trucks sold there; always thought the Toyota thing was about it was a common brand over there not an adopted practice; thanks, I learned something new
historyeeter@reddit (OP)
We actually produced willys under license with local diesel engines.
I believe these Chevy's and M151s were the last American transport/trucks we had in service.
b16b34r@reddit
Willys with diesel engine, that would make a nice goat for mountains
historyeeter@reddit (OP)
True, I used to own one when I was in school. Put a 3.4 V6 diesel in the little fella.
historyeeter@reddit (OP)
Old M series trucks are still in service..

MG42/MG3 on a classic Chevy pickup goes hard, ngl.
Ultravod@reddit
Seriously. Can't remote GAF about wooden armor one way or another when that MG42 is there flexing. "Did you know I was a prop in the original Star Wars?"
historyeeter@reddit (OP)
MG3*
Afraid_Stuff_History@reddit
Damn, guess that's where my dad's '78 Silverado got off to
CrashDepth_411@reddit
MG3s are so underrated
Fluffinator44@reddit
Square body Chevy, Kraut bullet hose, Lunch Box of Doom. I want it all.
blazeweedm8@reddit
I like these more than I should.
Je_me_rends@reddit
I was not familiar with Pakistan's MG3 game
TotalTimely8515@reddit
wood amor is actually very good against rpgs, the phillipines army would use it in marawi
Tobix55@reddit
That doesn't look like armor, more like sideboards or guard rails so people don't fall off the bed
scirocco@reddit
Looks to me like wooden boxes that may have 10-12 inches of sand in them, which would actually be decently effective, on the scale of shitty technicals
historyeeter@reddit (OP)
It's not. They just trying to make up with whatever.
The_Guardsman@reddit
CUCV my beloved
skark_burmer@reddit
Right? I wonder how many Dana 60 and NP205 are just sitting out in the desert.
scirocco@reddit
Surely a goldmine
89LSC@reddit
CUCVs with MG3s? Neato
Stormbaxx@reddit
I don't see wooden armour I see galaxy brain ad-hoc backrests.
You drive a couple hundred kilometers on insane African roads sitting on the edge of a truck bed with a squad and see how you feel - that's if you haven't fallen out.
Occams_Razor42@reddit
Yep, the seat height in pic 2 really shows off the need ngl
EasyRhino75@reddit
OG technicals
Open_Interest_1086@reddit
A TRULY shitty technical
It nearly looks as if the dude on the roof of the can in the second pic is laughing at them
