Once every week or too. Depends how messy I’ve been in the kitchen 😂

Ooo sounds like someone’s pretty kinky 🤣

Mop weekly. Hoover the hard floors twice a week. Carpets weekly although they probably could do with more as the bits showing on them annoy me but not enough to hoover more often.

Flash powermop changed my life… I now massively increased how many times I mop to AT LEAST once every six months
View on Reddit #84537701

znv142@reddit

I have this robot thing which vacuums pretty well, it mops badly but it does mop so I mainly use that. If I see an actual spot, I just hand mop (at some point within 3 months)
View on Reddit #84337728

ukslim@reddit

Went years with a cheap Amazon robo vacuum/mop that just dragged a wet cloth behind itself. It was something, but not much. Recently we treated ourselves to a Eufy vacuum/mop that has a base station with a tank for clean water and another for dirty water. The mop pads actually scrub back and forth as it moves around. When it thinks the pads are dirty it goes home and cleans them. The water in the dirty tank is gratifyingly revolting - it's doing the job. Prior to that we probably mopped properly about 4 times in 10 years.

Which would you recommend for mopping?
View on Reddit #84344540

Roborock and Dreame tend to come out with the most positive feedback. Narwhal are supposed to be good but expensive
View on Reddit #84353645

DoctorOctagonapus@reddit

My Dreame L10s does a decent job, only thing it doesn't do that well is around the edge of the room. You can turn up the mopping intensity if it's not doing a good enough job.
View on Reddit #84473271

CalmConclusion993@reddit

I went with the Best Seller Roborock on Amazon. £319. Maybe there are better ones. But to me, any mopping is better than no mopping. 😀
View on Reddit #84346512

King_Kongs_fingers@reddit

Same, I bought a cheapish one first to see if it was worth it, quickly realised it is the way forward if you have hard flooring and a floorplan that lends itself to it, I have now bought a better one with a docking station that has auto empty etc.
View on Reddit #84338749

Weekly, I live alone and have a cleaner that does it. If I had to do it myself it’d probably be monthly tbh
View on Reddit #84460041

DustInTheMachine@reddit

I'm a cleaner. I clean clients floors either weekly or biweekly. I have a Labrador and a busy household of 7 (6 adults, 1 early teen). I hoover weekly and try to mop weekly but it's usually mopped when I can see the dirt and we have visitors due 😂

Every week. Vacuum every day. 2 small kids, one of whom is the human crumb.
View on Reddit #84337776

IansGotNothingLeft@reddit

My Eufy vacuum l robot vacuum was one of the best purchases I've ever made, as a parent of 1 and two hairy cats. It was under £100. Set it to come out every evening at 5pm. Empty it's compartment when it's done. And once a month I'll go around with The Big Hoover and get the bits it misses/go under the furniture if needed.
View on Reddit #84417719

Lost_Repeat_725@reddit

Have you thought about getting a Labrador? The amount of crumbs in my house has gone down considerably. Not free but cheaper than hiring a human.

View on Reddit #84338563

APiousCultist@reddit

So long as they aren't a Human Nature Valley bar.
View on Reddit #84354416

DarkNinjaPenguin@reddit

Was the same until very recently, it's just unbelievable how many crumbs appear at every mealtime. Had to hoover the kitchen every day, sometimes multiple times, wipe the tiles regularly to stop smears and smudges from liquids. Then of course it inevitably trails through the house so I was needing to hoover the living room carpet multiple times a week as well. A robot vacuum/mop is a game changer. It hoovers and mops the kitchen every evening and does the rest of the downstairs whenever I think it's needed. Genuinely the best gadget I've bought and such a time saver.
View on Reddit #84339775

EdwardSpaghettiHands@reddit

Oooh which one have you got?
View on Reddit #84341378

It's an Eufy one, got it on one of the Prime day sales I think so it had a decent discount. Definitely worth it for the mop function and it goes between hard floors and carpets dead easily.

View on Reddit #84340295

What about behind doors and stuff though? They aren't perfect especially with edges and stuff can build up in corners and along edges as time goes by.
View on Reddit #84353767

CellistLow8857@reddit

We alternate having the doors open and closed, occasionally sweep around the corners/skirting boards but don’t find that we need to mop into the corners. We 100% have lower standards than most people though! I think we should prob still mop *sometimes* we just don’t! No kids or dogs though, so maybe our floors don’t get as bad as most!!
View on Reddit #84368824

nathderbyshire@reddit

I tried closing my door but it threw an absolute fit and wouldn't work until I opened it again so that workaround went out the window for me 😂 it just drove around in circles and kept crashing into the door. They do get to the edges but the arms aren't strong and precise enough to do an effective job it still needs a manual go every now and again. My carpets kinda slope as well, and my bathroom has silicone which everything sticks too around the edges so without those it probably would be a lot more precise
View on Reddit #84370359

CellistLow8857@reddit

Ahhh yeah - no carpets, no silicone here! And we have low standards about the rest 🤣

View on Reddit #84339190

nathderbyshire@reddit

I hate carpets but bedrooms are fine. For high traffic areas though it should be criminal to put a carpet down now! View on Reddit #84353518

WorldlyMarket7070@reddit

i'm the opposite. i accept that carpets are technically dirty but i prefer them cuz wooden floors get so much crumbs/dirt/hairs/etc. so quickly and i hate the feeling of it on my feet + it means you then have to clean it more cuz it's more visible/noticeable

Does anyone have a robot vacuum/mop they recommend?
View on Reddit #84341989

magneticormythical@reddit

I try to do it once a month and alternate with a flash mop and then a proper mop (hot water + soap etc) every time but if I have a busy month I try to at least do the kitchen

Once a week. I'll use the hoover once a week to deep clean, but i'll use the handheld one 3x a week as i got a cat who leaves hair everywhere.

Kitchen twice a week unless anything has spilled. Utility room and workshop area once a month. TBH the spaniel mostly deals with the spills though.

2 kids under 2, a sausage dog and a husky. We have no carpets for a reason. Hoover every other day at least. Scheduled deep mop/steam clean every 2 weeks. Constant spot cleaning as and when needed.

At least twice a week so 8ish times a month. We have three dogs who really enjoy trailing mud from the garden into the house.

Kitchen gets robot hoovered after ever meal - small kids Hard floor throughout our downstairs which gets mopped on a Sunday night+after and big spills

Wooden-Drawer@reddit

Used to be once or twice a month, but then I got one of those Philips electric mops that kinda spits out the clean soapy water and sooks up the dirty water, so I do it a couple of times a week. It uses much less water because you don't have to fill a mop bucket, and the floor dries much quicker. It's really helpful if you have a big spill of water too, as it just sucks it all up if you don't fill the clean soapy water chamber. They are quite pricy, but a good investment in my opinion.

kittykat7931@reddit

Once a week unless one of the cats vomits on it and I’ll do it then

I hoover twice a week and mop once a week, but I do have a dog
View on Reddit #84339318

dbxp@reddit

About once a week however that's largely due to the layout of my house meaning the hardfloors tend to get mucky and I WFH so there tends to be more dirt
View on Reddit #84339258

Once a fortnight when the cleaners do it, they've been a god send! And they help me stay on top of clutter as the night before is a mad dash to tidy everything up

Weekly. We only have hard flooring in the kitchen and bathroom which are both small so it doesn't take much time.

Mop weekly or at worst fortnightly but we only have the kitchen and the bathrooms with hard floors. They are vacced weekly though. Vac weekly everywhere else too.

I have a robot hoover/mop that goes on every night. I now only mop manually if there is a stubborn bit of dirt the robot can't get!

I used to do it once a week because I had this huge kitchen and it was really satisfying. Now I'm in a tiny kitchen and I can't help but feel it's a lot of effort for such a small floor. So maybe like once a quarter - which is so bad! Usually I'll do it if I have people over

Once a week with a steamer, we have hard floors throughout the house, a mix of stone and wood.

When it's dirty. I'd say that's probably averages between once a fortnight and once a month. Two adults, no kids or pets though, I imagine a family household would need it a lot more often.
View on Reddit #84338470

Intrepid_Bearz@reddit

Per month? Erm… maybe once every three months 😅 I hoover weekly and wipe up when the cats yack all over the place, but a full mopping can wait 😅
View on Reddit #84337607

thorn312@reddit

I had only one rug in my last flat, everywhere else was hard floors. I swear every time a cat needed to puke they made a beeline for it.
View on Reddit #84338447

rosywillow@reddit

Mopping the kitchen and bathroom is weekly, with extra spot cleaning if I drop something. Vacuuming carpets is twice weekly. I live on my own with no pets (any more) and don’t wear shoes in the house, so the place doesn’t get very dirty.
View on Reddit #84338390

mr-ajax-helios@reddit

Spot clean whenever I spill, hoover weekly to pick up any dirt or dust, actual mopping only in advance of special occasions, landlord inspections, and end of tenancy cleaning.

We have one of those steam cleaners. Once a week. Does the job just fine. This is one of things though where “It all depends” is an acceptable answer IMHO. Do you have kids? Pets? A muddy back or front garden? Are you busy? Etc. I get asking. But fit it in where you can.

Twice a day because I have three Labradors. They are washed down when they come back from their field walk, then I hoover and mop. They don’t make much mess after that as we have artificial grass in the back garden, I hoover and mop again late afternoon.
