How are people opening smoked Australian cheese packets?

Those ones that look like brown, plastic wrapped hotdog sausages.

I can cut them into slices, but even then I need to cut them lengthways too.

Love the cheese, but short of chewing it from the wrapper like a solidified Frube, I just run my knives and get sticky fingers.
