My 1948 Willys Jeep is Ole Stumpy. The guy I bought it from got it at an auction and in order to sell it they had to cut it out of the tree that had grown through the back bumper. I don't know how long it had sat outside, but I counted at least 17 rings on the stump. I stripped the bark, sanded it down and coated it in 5 coats of spar varnish. Only 2 of my cars have ever received a name, both by other people and it just caught on.

1980 Chevy c/k 10 - half ton, 2wd, 250 I6, 3 on the tree transmission, painted primer gray. Called The Gray Beast. I would regularly hit birds with it. Like while I am driving multiple birds would fly straight into truck. Normally the grill but sometimes the windshield or the fender. One of my friends was riding shotgun when it happened and hes all "WTF" cause hes never seen the and then starts talking about how the beast must eat and this is the Gray Beast.

2015 Chevy SS. Built in Australia but with bowties it looked like a Malibu or Implala, so I change out the logos all around as soon as I can and the Holden logo (company that made the car) is a lion. So like a week or two after I do this I watch some guys walking around my car, looking at it, talking about it, trying to figure out what it was because in 2015 basically no one knew the SS existed. Eventually guy a says something like "You ever watch Harry Potter? That logo is a Gryffindor." Guy b laughs and goes "yah, the Gryffindor Quidditch SSV" and they leave laughing. I find it hilarious, tell everyone I know, they start calling it the Quidditch which got shortened to Quid by someone and that just became its name. Quid.

Gromit was my first car, a 1981 Honda Accord. Then I had The Silver Pig, a 1984 Dodge Omni. It didn't have a name at first, but the exhaust kept rusting through, so my dad "fixed" it by clamping a Coors Light can around the pipe. The car was far from a bullet, so The Silver Pig. Then I had a Kia Sephia that I named Anita, but it was also known as the Kia Apeshit. Then I had a Volvo 240 named Sven (creative, huh?), followed by a Saturn SL-1 that I named Marcel, and I'm now driving a Honda Fit named Idris, after the TARDIS from Doctor Who, because it's blue and bigger on the inside :-)
