Thank me or hate me haha
purgatorialhoss@reddit
I will do both but I actually just love you, king
Staccs_87@reddit
That’s a solid price when you factor in the dot and comp. I would’ve grabbed this if I didn’t already have one
The_Longest_Shot@reddit
Same, I'm trying to justify buying it.
Bear2th@reddit
They’ve got the gray for the same price too

This or a gen 6 g17?!
The_Longest_Shot@reddit
My glock doesn't compare to my PDP. Glock feels like a meth head built it from dimensional lumber, the PDP feels like it's a part of my hand.

This
Fxry@reddit
Solid deal on a great handgun. I love my SD Pro.
Automatic_Market7422@reddit
Can you take off the huge magwell
Poor__cow@reddit
Don't insert anything unless it has a flared base!
Glum-Astronaut8529@reddit
That’s the actual grip on the standard pdp. The polymer flares out like that, it’s really not that big. The pro models come with the bigger removeable magwell.
Automatic_Market7422@reddit
Yeah in the OP post
We're talking about the SD model
Biggest mag well I've seen on a 9mm pistol, but I otherwise like the SD
TheStatusPoe@reddit
You should see the magwells on limcat 2011s. Those things are massive https://www.limcat.com/
Glum-Astronaut8529@reddit
My mistake, read that wrong
JBMT86@reddit
Yes
CombatBeaver1@reddit
is this trigger real nice, or is there a different model with the trigger that gets all the love?
JOEYballsGOTTI@reddit
The basic trigger is very nice on its own.
CombatBeaver1@reddit
is swapping for the fancy one a pain, or is it just as cost efficient to buy the model with it?
JOEYballsGOTTI@reddit
Some folks have cracked the frame doing it on their own, but Walther will do it if you buy their upgraded trigger for not that much IIRC.
I haven't looked into it myself, I don't see a need to.
cosmos7@reddit
They used to do it for free including paying shipping both ways, but since early last year they charge about $70 for the service to cover the shipping.
cosmos7@reddit
You will get a better trigger buying a base model and installing the DPT kit than you will buying a Pro model.
To get the kit DPT in you have to get the slide stop/catch out on both sides. For a few years Walther intentionally over-sized the pin so you really can't hammer it out and have to use a press. Either way the right side of the catch has a tab that sits inside the frame, so if you hammer the two parts together from the left side you will blow out the right side of the frame unless it is properly supported. I just use vice grips to press the two halves together; works much better.
Qav@reddit
I have both standard and pro PDPs. I would buy the standard version honestly and save your money, the regular trigger is that good. My competition setup is this basic 5 inch PDP on sale with a holosun and it’s a great setup

PDP 5" with a surefire x300 is my nightstand gun
It's a little flippy with that long slide, but I'm more accurate with it than just about any other pistol.
Metal_LinksV2@reddit
I too have a problem riding the slide release and my 4.5 FS is snappier than my G19.4
KaneIntent@reddit
I’m confused. Are longer barrel supposed to be more flippy because more reciprocating mass, or flatter because of more weight? I feel like I’ve seen it claimed both ways.
StylesBitchley@reddit
Yeah sometimes the longer slide are softer, but there is more movement, especially on return to battery. Some people prefer a shorter slide that while maybe sharper recoil, will track a dot up and back rather than up and own. Just depends on the gun and preference.
mynewhoustonaccount@reddit
It's just top (slide) heavy, so a lot of the reciprocating mass is just... unbalanced, if that makes sense. It's less noticeable on more compact/shorter slide and barrel lengths
Haunting-Country5922@reddit
I've been looking for a black 4" compact model for quite a while now. Do you guys think I'm an idiot for buying a used one just so I can get the European markings on it? From what I understand these are primarily made with an American slide these days so you won't get all the fancy lettering on the side... and I kinda like the way that looks a lot more
Clarity42@reddit
If that's what floats your boat, I'd say full send. If they have a gunsmith on hand perhaps have him take a quick look but unless it was formerly a competition gun, it's relatively hard to really "destroy" pistols these days. Idk why my font looks huge and bold but we'll see if my reply looks like that in a second...

How do these compare to the HK VP9? They’re so similar
KaneIntent@reddit
Have shot both. The PDP has a better trigger and grip texture. The VP9 is flatter shooting and more compact.
squishyEvSquare@reddit
They are very similar with the main difference being the ergonomics. I have a compact PDP Pro and just recently tried a rental of the VP9A1 since I was on the fence about getting a VP9. I have smaller hands and the PDP definitely feels better to me and while the recoil is a bit more snappy I find it easier to control. Grip texture on the PDP is amazing while I barely felt it on the VP9. It's unfair to compare the pro trigger to the HK but the pro is very nice.
At retail price I think the PDP is a better option and with this sale it's a no brainer. The only thing that truly separates them is paddle mag release on the HK if that's your thing.
IndividualCarrot396@reddit
Anyone recommend this or the pro version? And is this BIN?
Clarity42@reddit
This is close to BIN if the 5" FS is what you're after and you'd prefer something other than black (I hate the grey on my Pro but I got it for a good deal when the Pro first dropped and it's getting Cerakoted in a few weeks) So if you want the upgraded trigger, threaded barrel - you're better off buying a Pro as you cannot build a Pro out of a standard PDP for close to the same price. I have a both and while both great in their own regards, it really depends on your end game goals. My 5" compact is my bedside rig and my Compact Pro is a do all, winter carry, OWB when in the woods gun. My next can will be a 9mm so the threaded barrel was a must for me.
chferg1s@reddit
Give me a compact deal
pantsopticon88@reddit
I wanted to love the PDP. But I never got on with it.
Its definitely a me thing, I am not blaming the gun.
My hands are big and my grip rode the slide release. Which I could never get comfortable moving my grip around.
Trigger is amazing. The slide is a bit punchy but it's predictable. I could shoot the gun really well, but I would accidentally lock it open with my grip.
CordlessOrange@reddit
I love the PDP for the opposite reason - I have small hands. The ergo and magwell squeeze my hands just right to be comfy. If I had big ass polar bear mitts I could definitely see it being more annoying than accommodating.
cosmos7@reddit
Looks like most colors of the 5" and 4.5" are on sale. I really don't need yet another PDP, but want one.
Southern_Planner@reddit
Compact for sale when???
JOEYballsGOTTI@reddit
I got my 5'' Compact from SOSS for like $425 last year, I don't think it's made anymore though.
