I just re-watched the video for Van Halen's "Right Now" which, came out in 1991. That video seems fairly spot on with the way life seems to be moving "right now"
Anyway, just wanted to share a bit of nostalgia that kicked me in the face this morning.

I have an AMV version that I downloaded way back when, that is awesome. The video credits Andrew Floyd for the concept and doki doki productions for creations. I wonder if it's still floating around the interwebs.

Walgreens is using a bad version for their new ad campaign.

Man when Eddy rips into that lead, gives me goosebumps.

This bullshit isn't Van Halen.

Great song but overplayed when Pepsi used in one of their ad campaigns but now that was a while back I can enjoy the song more, and without the overplay of radio

Fun story I heard once. Pepsi contacted Van Halen about using the song for a good amount of money. The band had never licensed any song to that point and said “no”. Pepsi responded that they’d just hire someone to write a song JUST different enough to not get sued. Eddie said “ok”.

In high school we were called into an assembly where this video was played. I think it was before finals trying to motivate us but mostly it confused us. Love me some Van Hagar though.

Right now oil companies and old men are in control. Same as it ever was.

Van Hagar is unlistenable to me. 🤷♀️

A Roth purist I see

Van Hagar is unlistenable to me. It’s not just about Roth. I feel like their music became to commercial with Hagar. Plus- he was terrible live.
IdontgoonToast@reddit (OP)
Fair enough. I do feel like a lot of the bigger bands in the late 70s and 80s went the commercial route to keep the money coming in well into the 90s.
Beautiful_Arm8364@reddit
Which is why the grunge kids declared them all sell-outs and invented a whole new generation of future sellouts. lol
BulldMc@reddit
I sold out long before you'd ever heard my name
Beautiful_Arm8364@reddit
But yeah, Van Hagar is ass compared to what came before.
badhoopty@reddit
the graphic designer in me loves that video for how its done.
