Connecting fans in series
Posted by Nadriik@reddit | buildapc | View on Reddit | 4 comments
Hello everyone,
I have a micro ATX motherboard with only two fan slots.
Is it possible to connect the front fans (three or two) to a hub that plugs directly into the motherboard?
If so, what equipment do I need to buy, and what are the consequences of such a setup?
Thank you.

Sure, just get a splitter. https://www.amazon.com/AVERZELLA-Y-Shaped-Splitter-Extension-Motherboard/dp/B0CNL169J2/
I typically like to limit to no more than 3 or 4 fans on a single motherboard header. I've never encountered a motherboard (even really low end ones) that couldn't handle that.
The consequences of using splitters are that all fans will run at the same speed, but that's generally fine.
