What's the purpose of a mask and flight bag service?

I puzzled over the offering of this mask and flight bag service for a long time in STR. It is in the baggage hall of the airport. I can only imagine this is a hangover from covid, but why include the "flight bag" along with the mask? Are the two related? I sadly didn't have 2 EUR to get the mask + bag but does anyone know why on earth this machine exists?

At one point you needed to wear a mask and have your liquids in a baggie (flight bag in this case). Now you just need the bag.
