Good job, but seeing this rust I was reminded why we don't have any old Opels around and I don't even remember when I saw Frontera last time.
Plus_Bother4138@reddit (OP)
Where exactly is that?
Creative_Garbage_121@reddit
Poland
Plus_Bother4138@reddit (OP)
Yes, these are old cars, but they are so good if you keep them well maintained.
Creative_Garbage_121@reddit
Indeed, I had Omega A long time ago, great car it was
Plus_Bother4138@reddit (OP)
Oh yes, the Opel Omega A (1989) was my father's first car - it’s exactly the one I learned to drive on when I was a kid. A 2-liter engine with a manual transmission - pure classic.

I thought KFC pulled out of Russia, LOL?
Plus_Bother4138@reddit (OP)
Yes, that’s correct — these are pre-war photos. KFC, McDonald's, and others, just like me, have also left Russia.
This car has been sitting without any movement for more than four years. I believe it’s now in even worse condition. Maybe one day I’ll be able to share an overview showing what happens to a car when it sits unused for many years.

Good job. Looks great

What is the yellow/red coating on the brake lines?
Plus_Bother4138@reddit (OP)
insulation over copper pipes
radXR650R@reddit
What is that stuff called, where did you get it? Only stuff I've seen are like heat sleeves and not anything that actually protects the entire line.

Plus_Bother4138@reddit (OP)
It’s handmade — heat shrink tubing is applied onto the brake line.

Copper grease

And so you did and got some fried chicken!

Ok... Knowing Fronteras, I have to ask. Howblong did it took?
Plus_Bother4138@reddit (OP)
6 months of hard work. Most of the time went into sourcing parts - it’s a 1999 car, and many components aren’t easy to find.
majoneskongur@reddit
DANG
with that windshield and frame rust I couldn‘t be bothered
props to you
