Bowling shoes and socks...

Okay, I know this has been brought up before and there's been a fair amount of backlash... but am I the only one concerned about the Dude not wearing socks on neither his bowling nor non-bowling shoes?

I mean, I know it's California, it's hot, socks are optional.... but like those are shared shoes! This is unchecked aggression!

I know the dude abides but still - he should abide to wearing socks, right? At least when he bowls? When he's throwing rocks? Am I wrong?

Like, tell me what bowling place he goes to so I can avoid it. Am I wrong?

But do they really do so? Does your mind get at ease when you know the disinfectant is supposed to disinfect socks. Not shoes. Does the disinfectant act as efficiently as it would with socks when it has to face bare feet? We just don't know, dude. The scene doesn't put me into much of ease... dude!

The disinfectant is for the shoes. Not the socks. Not the feet. It's to kill whatever nasty the last person left behind. I don't go bowling so my socks will get disinfected.

We see Dude carrying his bowling shoes outside the bowling alley twice, so they are clearly his own personal pair. Now if they used to be rentals and he paid for them once and never returned them, that is another story, but very Dude.

since I'm not a golfer, I've always wondered why they don't have their own shoes the same way they carry their ball, considering how seriously they take it. Is it not allowed or something?
