Normally that is the case against weaker opponents. But Iran is stronger in the middle east than the US is and this has turned into a massive humiliation for the US MIC.

Trump's legal mandate runs out at the end of the month. This is the last full weekend he can pull something off. If something is going to happen it will be this weekend.
