I remember looking at porn as a young guy and it was more like "pizza delivery. Did you order an extra large Italian sausage?" Or "plumber here to lay some pipe." If you were a bit messed up maybe it was "oh dear! I can't seem to pay my rent." But now it's all "I just can't stop thinking about my brothers cock." Or "time to punish my step daughter..with my dick." I understand that porn was never the most moral of media. Couldn't we just have left "girls gone wild" as the bottom of the barrel? I may have mentioned this once before but I think it was on X. The recent boom of this genre happened between like 2014 and 2015. When Game of thrones released in 2011, it almost immediately began with the incest. Between 2011 and 2015 there were approximately seven sexual scenes involving incest. It is the algorithm-driven systems, yeah. They cause things to snowball, etc. One thing works, then quickly becomes popular and is adopted by creators, next thing you know it's now the established meta. It becomes not just popular, but performance suffers if you DON'T do it.
Look at YouTube thumbnails, for example. There's a face, and usually a bold/block font title, on a soft focus background, or some variation. Possibly even an arrow and/or a circle on something obvious. The "Mr Beast-ification effect" so to speak.
Some creators have spoken on how even though many people dislike it at this point, if you deviate much from the established meta, it hurts you in the algorithm. So it's just what you do, now.

This was my first thought as well. It could be that the more society pushes for body autonomy, clear consent, and accountability, the more exciting the opposite seems to more people.
I remember seeing something about how this is why Japanese animation is so violent (not even talking about porn here just regular animation), because people aren’t supposed to show much emotion at all in their culture. When they go on amusement rides, they bow their heads and don’t show any excitement. The animation is an emotional outlet for them. Of course this was about 25 years ago, their culture might have changed somewhat since then but this is immediately what I thought of when this topic came up.

I think the main issue is that young people only see the non consent part. I think the concept of people needing a more "hardcore fix" when it comes to porn should alarm absolutely everyone due to how widespread the problem obviously has become.

Except we don't call it addiction or rock bottom when it's porn instead of alcohol or coke. People don't like to hear that porn has addicted and fucked up an untold number of people, because it makes the person reading it who also uses porn worry that they might be similarly fucked up, so they reject the possibility outright.They don't want to believe that they, too, may be hurting themselves or their significant other with their own consumption. They won't even consider that their brain is being hijacked beyond the point where actual intimacy and sex can reach them, creating a lifetime customer for the porn industry who will eventually be too lonely to turn anywhere else even if they try.
But I'll say this much to you all. I have never, in my life, felt a sense of panic at the idea of being cut off from chocolate or unable to get my hands on it despite enjoying it very much. I also drink coffee most every day, but don't feel a knee-jerk compulsion to defend it voraciously or attack people who publish/discuss studies exploring the risks of excessive caffeine intake. You might ask yourself why defending porn fills you with such strong emotions if it's not an addiction and you're using it responsibly.

It’s weird to me because of how puritanical a lot of Gen Z seems to be. The search button is a friend. The main page is usually awful but the search feature narrows it down. "MILF" often yields more women friendly/normal, too, and helps weed out anything akin to too young. "Romantic" and "sensual" can weed out incest and abuse. I just know that porn sites I frequent skew towards what I've watched before. I’d like to disagree. Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel significantly shaped the "cool" and modal sounds of jazz by introducing a harmonic palette that moved beyond traditional major and minor scales. George Gershwin’s Rhythm in Blue etc… all again had heavy influences on Jazz and visa versa.

What's important here is that classical music existed, then time passed, then jazz existed as a newer form of music. All that's needed is classical music predating jazz for the illustration to work. “Everyone looks normal from across the street.” The implication being that behind closed doors we are all at least a little freaky and in very different ways. No one is normal, in fact being “normal” is weird and strange.
Another good saying comes from a speech given by the main character of a 90’s teen film called Angus. He’s berated all through out the movie by the “normal” jock. Finally at the end he stands up to him. He explains everyone’s different and normal doesn’t actually exist. He ends the monologue with “Are you normal, or are you one of us?”

It likely started as an easy way to make a quick connection by using an existing relationship but since they hired decent and extremely hot actresses for it it got more clicks than anything else. Funny you should mention that. I was perusing some smut sites and came across some of the vintage actresses I used to sneak and get my sheets crunchy to and went down a rabbit hole of classic films like "Behind The Red Door", "The Blonde", "Driller", and the likes. I don't know if there are a lot of people actually seeking this kind of stuff, but it seems the producers can just slap a "step-whatever" to the title to make it appeal to that group and the rest already ignore it and watch it regardless.
It may be a case of "everyone's doing it so I must be doing it" where nobody knows anymore if it is useful or not.

I think it’s a product of lazy writing. You can simply say your same age actors are step siblings or step-parent/step child if they’re different ages. You don’t need any special costumes or music or anything. Just a camera and an Airbnb. The performers can start out in street clothes because they’re just “family” at home.
