Hello.
I have a pc with a 7800x3d+3080 msi rtx
Ive had the 3080 since July 2022, and the 7800x3d since September 2023
I love high end gaming.
Is it worth it to upgrade my 3080?
I live in the netherlands and usually buy from Azerty of Megekko (and if there is something nice from Amazon)
I would love to hear what you all think

Current options links are the cheapest models of each on PcPartPicker (Netherlands selected):
9070, around 25% more performance than the 3080: https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/product/2xHp99/asus-prime-oc-radeon-rx-9070-16-gb-video-card-prime-rx9070-o16g
9070XT, around 45% more performance than the 3080: https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/product/Q8sMnQ/asrock-challenger-radeon-rx-9070-xt-16-gb-video-card-rx9070xt-cl-16g
5070, around 14% more performance than the 3080: https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/product/D3bypg/msi-ventus-2x-oc-geforce-rtx-5070-12-gb-video-card-geforce-rtx-5070-12g-ventus-2x-oc would most likely avoid this as the 9070 is much better for a similar price.
5070TI, around 45% more performance than the 3080: https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/product/H9JBD3/gigabyte-eagle-oc-ice-sff-geforce-rtx-5070-ti-16-gb-video-card-gv-n507teagleoc-ice-16gd would avoid as it's pretty similar in performance to the 9070XT for a lot higher price.
5080, around 69% more performance than the 3080: https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/product/Lr62FT/gainward-phoenix-geforce-rtx-5080-16-gb-video-card-ne75080019t2-gb2031x would avoid as it's 15% faster than the 5070TI for a lot more than 15% more money
5090, best of the best around 156% more performance than the 3080, but costing a hell of a lot: https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/product/2Ftkcf/asus-tuf-gaming-oc-geforce-rtx-5090-32-gb-video-card-tuf-rtx5090-o32g-gaming
It's up to you whether any of these options provide enough uplift at their current pricing.

"Budget" option - I'd say go for the 9070XT. Not the regular 9070, the xt will benefit you more in the long run, trust me.
I wouldn't consider 5070 rn bc just like another comment stated, its's overpriced rn so wait for it to go on sale or drop in price if you're hellbent on Nvidia (budget).
Obviously if you have the budget to sink into a 5090 and your PSU is "up to par" to handle it, then yes, a 5090 obviously.

Depends if you feel the need to, and your budget. The 9070xt would be a great upgrade and has great price to performance.

If you like high fidelity while gaming, upgrade it. I opted for 9070 xt because of the decent ray tracing performance and FSR4 (hopefully this does get better adoption). 5070 ti is stupid overpriced at the moment.

i think the 3080 is still very good the only one who can decide if is worth it is you are your games running fine ? what settings do you use ?
