What’s something that genuinely impressed you in a positive way when visiting any Balkan country? Could be the people, food, culture, nature, or even something small you didn’t expect.

Scenery is stunning, people are hospitable. In Albania I’d have people making detours just to check in and make sure I didn’t lose my way

Traveling there I expected it to be green but tbh I didn’t expect this amount of greenery. But I was mainly impressed by the sense of safety traveling around the Balkan.
life feels somehow slower there and people were gentle and helpful.

Sounds silly but Skopje Airport.
It is probably one of the best running institutions in that country.
Efficient, clean and friendly.
The public transportation is bad though.

When I visit balkans for the first time I got pretty surprised how balkan countries culturally similar with my home country. People were kind and polite, I was expecting them to act different when I say I am from Turkiye but this has never happened. At that point I understood problems are only political, actually we all not that different.
