This is how I discovered that I prefer working with my hands.

Graphic Designer at the early stages of my career here. I wish I followed my dreams and became an archeologist. I would rather be hunched back scraping dirt of a fragmented pottery artifact #8161. I hate the meaninglessness of my job and staring at screens all day. But this is the only thing Im "good" at + years of invested education/training.
If finances weren't hurdle I would start again tomorrow.

Senior software engineer here. I get more fulfillment shoveling holes in my garden than coding another edge case feature for an ungrateful customer

I'm glad I stopped being able to binge-play video games, but still enjoy sitting down for a few minutes+ to play some, hope you reach that stage soon
EquivalentSnap@reddit
Yeah the real sad is when you spent all day deciding what to play than playing it
StandardN02b@reddit
Real and sad.

Why are people still doing programming tutorials when AI exists
Nadiadain@reddit
Why use your brain when someone else can tell you what to think?
CautiousToaster@reddit
The best programming language is human language. You still use your brain. But you don’t need to do the manual parts.
NomadicScribe@reddit
You're one of those people who make my day job painful
CautiousToaster@reddit
How so?
Nadiadain@reddit
Omg I actually found one of you people. A I code is awful and people who know what they’re doing always have to go in and redo it
CautiousToaster@reddit
That’s literally untrue. You’d never believe what coding looks like at my company. But hey this is Reddit not reality.
Nadiadain@reddit
With how shitty a lot of software is now I’d definitely believe companies are being cheap
skilliard7@reddit
why do people learn math when calculators exist?

Vincent-FFP@reddit
I just want to read my tutorials goddamnit I don’t want a video
SipoteQuixote@reddit
Man, I remember being able to sit and play all day. Now I get an hour in and I end up getting up and cleaning shit.
JumpingCoconut@reddit
It's real that he'll never become a software engineer.
And gay that he tried to to it with he has no joy in it.
Guess he has to get his ass of the couch and learn a trade.
ElephantEarwax@reddit
Unfortunately real
theGaido@reddit
Kind reminder that first 10 minutes of "programming tutorial" is not even a tutorial part. It's just "what we will do today" or "history of loops in programming history since 3565 b.c."
