Good CPU Cooler Recommendations under 150mm in Height
Posted by LargeApplication2599@reddit | buildapc | View on Reddit | 10 comments
So I am upgrading my PC build, and looking for a CPU cooler. Problem is, the case I have only allows CPU coolers with a Max height of 150 mm. So I'm a little lost on which one to get. Any suggestions?

I would list the case you have in your post, it would help, as well as if you case supports AIOs.

I have a ThermalTake Versa T35, it does support AIOs

While there are air-cooling options available for that case/CPU combo, an AIO would likely give you the best cooling performance if you are that height constrained. Looks like your case can handle up to a 240mm AIO if you mount it on the top and 360mm AIO if you mount it on the front, though a 360 would be overkill for a 3700x.

What CPU? What case?

Thermalright Peerless Assassin Mini

Thermalright Burst Assassin SE (Short Edition) or Peerless Assassin Mini.
They're kinda opposites, but both have 6 heat pipes.
The Peerless Assassin Mini has 2 towers + 1 hidden fan. It's a great choice if you like the aesthetic or really want a small CPU cooler that fits in easily: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CQQ4RWDF
The Burst Assassin SE has 1 bigger tower, 1 visible stock fan, but you can easily add a second fan. This is 148mm tall and will be close to the biggest that will easily fit: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D93X1TKG
I personally do a lot of builds with a P12 Reverse on the back for stealth performance: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FJS2TH73
And then a more attractive RGB fan on the front that matches the rest of the build, such as a pack of Thermalright S12: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C743H79N

Thanks!

go to PCpartpicker, build your PC in there,
It'll take your build into consideration of what can fit

Sounds like you’re looking for a Noctua NH-D12L, or an AIO for whichever size your case allows.
