‘21 f-150 supercab??

Thinking about getting a ‘21 supercab with the 2.7l and locking rear diff. I like that I can have the bigger bed to set it up either as a sleeper or have more room for a tonneau and tent. I need to use it as a daily driver too. Won’t be our main family rig but I’ll still have my 2 boys in the back. One still a car seat. The other isn’t. I’d like to maybe do a seat delete on the passenger side. My question is pretty wide.
Have y’all seen these be effective rigs. Are there any good examples of extended cab builds? Any recommendations or input from y’all would be awesome.
My goal is to have something I can do Big Bend, the alpine loop, maybe some easy Utah routes, etc.

In March I took myself and four other adults in my 2018 SCab camping. Fit everyone (albeit a little tight) and all of our gear for four days into the truck.

2.7L: “I’m not fast, but I’m reliable.” 10-speed: “Hold my beer.”

Supercab is the way.

I’ve been searching for a deal on a ranger with the 2.7l. Almost pulled the trigger on a new pro4x because the deals are so tempting. But the price on a 21 Scab with only like 22k miles is like $30k and that gives me some budget to spend on extras right away. 🤷♂️
That moon lander looks pretty sweet btw. Do you sleep north to south? Or side to side?

Side-side over the rails on 2 removable sections. That leaves the truck-bed for storage. I bought a 2022 because there was no 6' bed on the 2024-2025. (Though the Moonlander works on shortbeds, also) r/radicamoonlander or their site for other examples.

I have a 2016 2.7L SCab with a fiberglass topper. 2.7L is a bit underpowered but overall it's a totally fine platform. Comfortable for long highway miles and capable enough for mild offroading. It's worked for two people and a 50 lb dog.
I tried a seat delete but found the cab got too noisy and put the seat back in. The dog prefers it that way anyway.

BTW I've done the alpine loop but didn't love parts of it in a full size. Had to get too close for comfort with some sheer dropoffs. And the OHV's didn't seem to want to share the road.

10-speed has issues prior to model year 2023.
