Thought I'd watch "Code of Honor" for the first time in years, and Denise looks strange in this frame.

That shit got wild. She died in a shootout during an ambush of her ex.
Ralph--Hinkley@reddit (OP)
Hey, looky there!
drvondoctor@reddit
Thats her stand-in, often referred to by her nickname "Denoice"

Chicanerous and deplorable.

At least it wasn't Mr Garvey: De-Nice.
funlovingguy9001@reddit
Came here to say that, you beat me to it. Where are her friends J-Quellin and A-A-Ron?
Transcendingfrog2@reddit
They're in detention after trying to pull some bullshit about being in chess and glee club lol
funlovingguy9001@reddit
Or is it the chest club?

Doesn’t really look like her. Probably a stunt double.
ZippyDan@reddit
Rude.
I don't look like her either.
Am I also her stunt double?
UESPA_Sputnik@reddit
Also, if stunt doubles have doubles, are they stunt triples?
Hypestyles@reddit
who wrote this episode?
OhNoIBoffedIt@reddit
The same woman who wrote Emancipation, the Mongol episode from Stargate 🤣
GargamelLeNoir@reddit
Give her another chance, after making the worst episode of a few more sci fi shows she'll get it right eventually!
Rickie_H@reddit
It was an old one for phase 2 that should have been destroyed. Worse episode ever
Ralph--Hinkley@reddit (OP)
Lutan is the bad cop from Boyz N tha Hood, who roughs up Tré because he hates those young, black, ns.
Sea_Violinist3328@reddit
“Should have been destroyed” is so real and so true.
spinstartshere@reddit
I wonder how often this episode gets watched these days.
GargamelLeNoir@reddit
I shudder to imagine how many people convinced to give a try to TNG stopped there.
Friends don't let friends get into TNG chronologically!
MrDeekhaed@reddit
I just let ot auto play so it’s on my tv fairly frequently.
It’s interesting because I no longer see it as it truly is. It’s only racist in the real world. If all that exists is the trek universe it’s not racist at all and that’s all I see now cuz why bother
I had my outrage and disgust. The whole world knows what it is. Just me and my tv for the thousandth time, why should I care?
zeptimius@reddit
That's not Denise, because it's not Tasha. You think the Enterprise is going to put one of its bridge crew in mortal danger for some low budget local version of American Gladiators? They beamed in a redshirt at the last minute to take her place, Ensign Fatale was expendable. We all look alike to these aliens anyway.
ElectricPaladin@reddit
...why would you do that to yourself, though?
Ralph--Hinkley@reddit (OP)
Curiosity. I haven't watched it in a good seven years, so I felt like it. I always skip Code and Rosa, but I did watch Rosa last time through, so I told myself I'd watch Code next time.
GargamelLeNoir@reddit
Wait you skip Sub Rosa? Do you hate fun and joy?
il_dulce_vita@reddit
Oh Nana!
tommytraddles@reddit
Your masturbation candle is amazing, Nana.
AmittaiD@reddit
That's her stunt double.
Ralph--Hinkley@reddit (OP)
Are you sure?
GargamelLeNoir@reddit
That's a wild theory, but it might be crazy enough to be true.
(Also I can see you're trying humor here. It might be better received in a sub named after the subpar version of a famous in universe institute)
Crimdal@reddit
The other womans stunt double is even more obvious. Actress is a skinny woman and stunt double is a buff dude doing crazy acrobatics on the bars
GargamelLeNoir@reddit
The idea that they needed stand ins to flay around like drunk toddlers is hilarious. If it wasn't for the overwhelming racism this episode might be as funny as Sub Rosa.
OhNoIBoffedIt@reddit
Keep watching 90s Trek and you'll notice all of the principle women start looking like Lyta from Babylon 5.
IKindaPlayEVE@reddit
Patricia Tallman was in a number of Trek episodes so that checks out.
crp5591@reddit
Today I learned!!! How did I miss this all these years!! Her page on Memory Alpha is a mile long!
Titanosaurus_Mafune@reddit
She also runs to the Bunker in Jurassic Park
OhNoIBoffedIt@reddit
Yes, that's the joke 😏 She was a stunt double for most of the 90s Trek women.
peteybombay@reddit
The HD upscaling allowed numerous stunt men and women to prove to their families that they really were in Star Trek!
MindlessNectarine374@reddit
Stuntdouble
Thismomenthere@reddit
Haha, Cheers to the stunt doubles.
You should check out the Anbo-jyutsu match in season 2. There's a scene where (I think Frakes) is knocked down and replaced with "Uncle Frakelyn" It's easy to see once ya see.
afriendincanada@reddit
TOS is the best. They weren’t even trying.
Ralph--Hinkley@reddit (OP)
In Conundrum, when Riker fights the Admiral, there are a great few frames with a stuntman who looks like David Johansen.
UrguthaForka@reddit
Yeah, all those early TV shows and movies never imagined anyone would capture high-resolution stills and re-distribute them. I don't think they worried too much about whether stunt doubles were accurate enough representations or not.
Ralph--Hinkley@reddit (OP)
I just paused the Blu-ray.
Rocketboy1313@reddit
Yeah. A technology that did not exist when they made the show.
High resolution allows you to see all the screws, make up, seams, and doubles that a 4:3 480p TV would not.

that said... if the chief of security has a stunt double, what are the chances that armus was able to actually kill her instead of the double!?!
bannock4ever@reddit
I certainly did a double take when I saw the word armus.
TheMidnightRook@reddit
Arms killing her was just a cover story, so she could disguise herself as a half-romulan to infiltrate the Empire.
jtrades69@reddit
ohhh the conspiracy runs deep!
unbalancedcheckbook@reddit
These are not them. These are their STUNT DOUBLES.
Diela1968@reddit
That’s from back in the day when television was in 4:3 aspect ratio. The sides would have been cropped out. That is probably a stand in or stunt double who was never meant to be seen.
You see it in a lot of shows that were altered to fit 16:9 standards. They’re not going to go back and shoot it again.
TheSecretDecoderRing@reddit
It's not like they were using widescreen cameras and then cropping the frame for TV.
rantingathome@reddit
TNG is still in 4:3, so how exactly does your explanation work?
Shiny_Agumon@reddit
Yeah its probably more because TNG was original aired in Standard Definition on old CRT screens, so you wouldn't be able to tell that they used a stunt double in a shot like this.
Happens all the time on the show.
rantingathome@reddit
That was more my assumption... they figured she'd always be blurry
Keezin@reddit
haven’t yet seen an episode of TNG in 16:9
Different-Audience34@reddit
There was definitely a transporter accident.
lil_bosco@reddit
Looks more like Cheri Oteri

Malnurtured_Snay@reddit
Probably not Denise there
Sea_Violinist3328@reddit
Stunt woman. Fancy.

"You captured their stunt doubles!"
