Howa M1500 Mini Action 7.62X39 20" Barrel, Walnut *display model
Seems like a good price if you're in the market for one. My shipping estimate was $65. This is the mini action. If that doesn't sound familiar, you may want to read up on their proprietary magazines, bottom metal, and magazine release.

You can convert these to 338 arc if you’re into that
Jason1435@reddit
Or 6mm arc if you want long range
nico_juro@reddit
Does this, or any other bolt 7.62, take AK mags?
nobodysbeach@reddit
You can get an ak47 magwell conversion for ruger american. 250$ iirc.
mpags51@reddit
My 6.5 Grendel mini action with a bell and carlson stock is stupid accurate, love that thing.

Tell me more. I found this 7.62x39 while looking for a 6.5G. I want to cut one down to 12.5”, but I’m not sure if the barrel contour would allow it.
Omnicious_Slap@reddit
i've got a 6.5G mini action as well.
I use it for taking deer and whenever I bring new shooters even they can take it out to 4-500 yards VERY easily on 6" steel
mpags51@reddit
Same - I have a Vortex 5-25 on it and can easily hit steel at 600 yards on my buddies farm. Not too big, not too heavy, no recoil, and easily takes deer here in PA. I'll never sell it, will die with that rifle in my possession.
nobodysbeach@reddit
5-25 is bonkers on a 6.5g deer gun
BuckHunt3r@reddit (OP)
Seems like the ideal caliber for youth hunting. I’d like to shorten one and add a can ahead of a youth deer hunt this season. I’m sure I’ll take a few with it also.
Omnicious_Slap@reddit
im a smaller guy, 5'4 around 105lbs.
It is absolutely perfect.
I keep the mini action as a spare hunting rifle nowadays and use my 12.5" AR 6.5G for most hunting nowadays

Why x39 bolt gun?
glyphosate_enjoyer@reddit
Many many years ago 7.62x39 was cheap. Not so much anymore
CJR1106@reddit
I thought this rifle came out in 2016-2018. Well past the x39 glory days.
Strugglebutts@reddit
It was still cheap til they invaded Ukraine the most recent time and all Russian ammo was banned. No idea why you would build one now though.
CJR1106@reddit
Pre Ukraine it was still 35-45 per round. Now its beyond stupid, but the moment it passed 30 it died imo.
Strugglebutts@reddit
To be fair I wasn’t shooting it in its glory days, I grabbed a x39 upper at the beginning of Covid when it was the cheapest rifle round to shoot and was still available. It was a crappy upper, but it got me through covid with cheap available ammo so I could go shooting twice a week when I was off work for two months. Once 5.56 came back to normal I haven’t shot it once.
It was cheap enough for me at the time, but nothing like the glory days. Now it’s a pointless round if you don’t already have an AK.
CJR1106@reddit
I got an sks and 500 rounds of ammo for literally yard chore money. It was super fun, went to go get more ammo, decided it wasnt that fun.
glyphosate_enjoyer@reddit
I have a receipt for three cases of quality, lacquered Barnaul the night of the invasion for $1000. Never again will I get it for that price.
Wunktacular@reddit
There's a small number of guys who decided when it was super cheap to fill their entire basement with spam cans and now pretty much only buy x39 long guns because it's more or less free to shoot.
Strugglebutts@reddit
Fair enough
passing-aggressive@reddit
The ban was August of 2021, 6 months before Ukraine. The invasion just sealed its fate.
1stRBWinchester@reddit
I think part of it was being like a poor man’s .300 blk because subs were easier to find, I could be talking out of my ass though.
redacted_robot@reddit
I've always found 300blk subs more easily than x39, but I've only been doing blk since '20, x39 since the 90's.
1stRBWinchester@reddit
Yeah idk I thought I heard it somewhere as a valid reasoning, could just be because they can.
Tax_this_dick_1776@reddit
Because it’s a joy to shoot out of a bolt gun

Light, low recoil, and quiet whitetail rifle.
blessedbymortarion@reddit
One less caliber I have to collect.
Is what I said a year before I just got a howa in 6.5C.
CJR1106@reddit
Good old 6.5 copemore. Real men shoot 5 moa with 30-06.
Legal-Practice2445@reddit
Dedicated varmint rifle maybe?
CJR1106@reddit
5.56/.223 is a much better varmint cartridge though, and cheaper.
Legal-Practice2445@reddit
Oh no for sure it is. I’m just saying maybe that’s the thought behind a bolt action 762. For the guy who got more into AK’s than AR’s
CJR1106@reddit
If it wasnt 20in long, it would be a dope can host.
GlobalElipsis@reddit
60+ dollar shipping wtf?
Diligent-Parfait-236@reddit
Welcome to actual shipping costs.
_tae_nimo_@reddit
Mine is 100+. Sucks
