What to buy

So I've been upgrading my PC for a while but the one thing I haven't upgraded is my CPU I'm stuck between two pretty similar ones ryzen 7 5700X 3D and the ryzen 7 5800X3D I currently have a ryzen 5600X with 64 gigs of DDR4 and a 4070 super but for some of the newer games coming out I just want to upgrade like subnautica 2 and Forza horizon 6 but there's no shot I'm going to AM 5 with these prices

Wait 2 months and see if the 5800x3D rerun is global. It’s a great CPU, It’s been destroying everything I run on it. Almost similar setup, 64GB of RAM but a 4080.

Yeah thanks I have the money right now to drop on either one of them I'm just trying to pick the smarter move but I've definitely been considering just waiting

Providing not using a budget or entry level board X3D is the best option. The only alternative with keeping DDR4 is moving to intel 14600KF and MSI B760-P DDR4. Or finding a Z690/790 DDR4 board on Amazon. I think waiting for the 10 anniversary 5800X3D is worth it. Are you playing at 1440P right now? That's another option less CPU bound might hold you off until release.

Yeah I'm currently playing at 1440p on an ultra wide

If u have the money, wait for prices to drop and get urself a 7800x3d, fairly prices as is and is amazing for the performance u get.
Potential_Payment132@reddit
Slowly dropping buf still expensive
Im-Floof@reddit
Yes, that is very true, what I'm saying is - if you feel like you can wait for either A) Prices om RAM to drop (and upgrade to AM5) Or B) Wait (possibly shorter) for the 5800x3d to be re-launched
If not, then just go with the 5800x3d now as is

A rerun was announced?

They are the same CPU with the 5700X3D being clocked lower. Maybe wait a bit to see if the 5800X3D does get a re-release. Other than that just buy whichever is cheaper. If they are close to the same then just get the 5800X3D.

Re-release has been confirmed I'm pretty sure? But might not be global.

I have the 5700x3d it’s pretty good
But get the 5800x3d instead

For gaming I’d say the 5800x3d, it gives better performance.
