It gets even worse when you are in a series where it is real, and people still don't believe in it. The Netflix Castlevania series comes to mind, the entire plot is set off because a woman, in a world where God is verifiable, says to a Bishop, "I don't believe in fake things like God and the Devil, I am a scientist, I believe in REAL things...like Dracula!"

No. Usually there are conditions and/or an alternate "Hell" afterlife too and it's not like people know for sure which one they're going to or they assume they're going to the "hell" afterlife.
