Hi! So I been thinking about building a pc for awhile now, now that I have the money for it here I am lol. Not sure what’s considered $$$ and what’s considered a budget build. I don’t play too many games (yet) I do play things like call of duty, valorant, Fortnite, and GTA.
I just need help on where to start, I don’t know which graphics card would be best for me, and as for the rest of everything else lol. Anything helps!

Try /r/buildapcforme if you need help assembling a parts list

For that budget its a good idea to aim for older generations of components.
Usually it goes.
Pick a cpu Pick a motherboard. Pick a gpu Pick ram Pick a power supply Pick a case
Pcpartpicker.com is a good place i like to start.
Though it doesnt have every part on there, particularly cases. It can help you budget.

FYI they do have cases on there

Thanks! I’ll look on there, a lot of things to choose from 😭

Typically for a gaming PC, I recommend allocating about 40% of the budget to the graphics card.
I would probably lean towards something like this as a starting point.
PCPartPicker Part List

Please include your country of purchase in your post.

I am currently in Hawaii

Thanks! I just did

I don't see your country of purchase in the post. Quoting your budget in USD doesn't necessarily mean that you're in the US. A lot of people convert from their own currency to USD because they think it simplifies things.

An option for your budget could just to get a console if you are solely playing games because they usually have more performance at this price range. You could also buy used parts.

I have a console already lol, looking to try something new 👀

you’re getting into at a bad time unfortunately due to the price of some components increasing so $1000 won’t get you as much as it would’ve a year ago. but I would go to r/buildapcforme and fill out their little form and post it. then people will comment parts lists on pcpartpicker that you can then just purchase and pull up a tutorial on youtube and get to building
noobforcarz@reddit (OP)
Thanks! I’ll give that a try :)

no problem, but don’t forget you’ll need a keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers etc if you don’t already have those
noobforcarz@reddit (OP)
Got it! Have those already:) thanks
