Nice - 4 nights — have that i could do Cannes, Antibe, and Monaco. Can fly directly from my local airport, but the returning flights is really expensive —can fly into London and have to travel back up Leeds.
Italy — 8 nights — want to fly into Milan and do some day trips to Verona and Lake Como and then maybe get a train to Zurich. May need to use Manchester than my local.
Sweden —6 nights - fly directly into Gothenburg, high speed train to Stockholm.
All three destinations are really expensive, but I am going in early September so hopefully it will be quieter. Which one is worth visiting?
I want to visit more countries.

Italy should be the cheapest but 8 nights is really a lot

A lot for what? Italy has tones of things to visit. Even in the north only you have so many places that 8 nights can easily be filled up just with a couple of regions

What do you like to do when you visit a city? Museums, food, activities?

I would do Italy then. Lake Como is tough without renting a car, but from Milan you can easily make a quick stop in Verona before continuing on to Venice and / or Florence. If your schedule is flexible enough I would push back the trip a bit. Beginning of September is still summer vacation for most of Europe, meaning more crowded and higher prices, and the weather will still probably be uncomfortably hot in Italy.
